Tin pot club. No other clubs find unexploded wartime bombs near their training ground. Exclusion zone set up in case it gets hit by a stray Smallwood corner.

    Again I say it!

We train at facilities owned by a school.

    Not at school training facilities.

    There is a massive difference.

Nope. I couldn't disagree more. VP is our home. As Arsene Wenger said, it's a proper football ground, not just another soulless identikit bowl. It's near the centre of Bradford, not in some godforsaken bleak industrial estate miles from anywhere, like so many of the modern grounds. It's easily accessible by public transport and is a short walk from a large number of pubs and eating places. Many away fans comment on how much they enjoy their awayday for City matches.

Yes, it needs sprucing up a bit, but it's a Championship standard ground. So unless we get a meteoric rise back to the Premier League, which seems unlikely, it's perfectly adequate for our needs for the foreseeable future.

I honestly couldn't give a monkey's about the area it's in. Who cares if it's scruffy? All most fans are doing is walking in and out for a couple of hours to watch a game. For me, it's much more important to be within easy reach of pubs, eating places, stations etc than to be in a nice area or look pristine. It's a football match, not the opera.

Grayson managing in India now, says a lot. Warnock was just joining in for Brownie points. I’ve talked about the range of facilities several times on here, now perhaps some at least will believe the quality.

Look at the accounts for Woodhouse Grove, there isn't room in their turnover for us to possibly be paying £1,400,000 per annum in rent. (and that allows for two months off in Summer).

Look at Bradford City's 2021 accounts, the total cost in that for "operating Lease & rentals (Land & Buildings)" is £434,489, which I assume also includes the cost of leasing the Stadium.

If we assume we pay £350,000 for the stadium (as often quoted) then the rent for everything else we rent or lease in this are is £84,489. That alone is about 60% of what we would pay on a commercial bank loan to build what we would need.

There is a separate line in the accounts for "Stadium Costs", which halved in 2021 due to Covid, and isn't big enough to include the rent.

On that basis, the figures you quote are absolute trash. It took me five minutes to find this information, you've been floundering for days with unsubstantiated figures & claims.

If you are going to make claims, back them up with facts.

You don't have a clue what the financial arrangements are with our co-partners with regards the facilities, and if you do know were all ears, give us the figure you know what we pay to used those facilities.

Whatever we pay will be offset, to an extent, by the advertising space we give the school within the ground.

the day of the taxpayer bailing them out are well and truly over ............ the Bulls fans have shown there true colours in disappearing on mass when the shit hit the fan unlike our lot ............ if the council have any interest in promoting sport in this City then it should go to the club that pull decent numbers in when things are going wrong ........... not a club who could probably fit there fan base into BPAs ground ................

Spot on, I’ve also found out having been in business for so long, it’s the people who boast about their assets & wealth who have very little. The ones with the wealth do not need to shout it from the rooftops

So almost 3.5 times the rent on the Stadium as I calculate it. £140k per month equals £1.68 million per annum. What a joker you are Fordy.

I admire your ambition for the club, I really do but you need to pause for a second and think about what level of investment that will take and balance that against where we are as a club right now.

Bradford City are in League 2 - in case you have forgotten - and draw in a modest income from playing at this level. Any investment at this time really needs to be focused on the playing squad and the management and staff needed to support it. We have a decent ground and decent training facilities none of which hamper the club to the point it cripples it financially.

Get things right on the pitch and we move up the divisions consolidating in the Championship at the least, then and only then should we be thinking about acquiring land and assets - including the stadium.

It's a medium to longer- term objective. The fascination of investing millions in such things at this stage is certainly not a priority. Let's get it right on the pitch first. The club can then begin to deliver on a strategy of building up its assets for future security and income generation.

You hear far more complementary comments from away fans with regards the stadium and atmosphere it generates than those who complain about the area it's in or the accessibility of a beer or meal.

Yes, the ground definitely needs an overhaul. But, unless and until we're back in the second tier it's adequate. There are many worse grounds in L1 and L2.The Dallas Stand is a bit of an embarrassment, but most clubs in L2 and L1 don't bring enough fans to need to open that.

I don't want to move out of the city to some industrial wasteland, which is what a move would inevitably entail. There's 120 years of heritage at VP that means something - it's a big part of the club's identity.
Many people don't just want to drive in, park, watch the game and then leave. They want a day out, especially away fans. Where would you move us to, that has public transport, pubs and places to eat within walkable distance from the ground? I can't think of anywhere obvious. And where would the money come from?

Spot on offy. Buying has to be the first priority. Even if we had to may £10 million it would a single digit fraction of the cost of building a new ground. Why move ? This argument has been done to death. The available sites in Bradford are virtually nil unless we move out of town, which would be a disaster for the local economy.

We don't need a new ground, we just need to find a way to pay less for VP, which in my view isn't a tired old ground at all.

The area it is in means absolutely nothing. Try improve the area by moving and you vastly increase the cost of land because you are competing with residential developers.

I have no truck with Manningham at all. It's our home, and the only people you see complaining about where it is are Bulls fans, who have this stupid air of superiority and think we should give it all up and pay towards a redeveloped shite hole in BD6

We have to have other options ready for 2028, so at least we can be prepared to walk away.
That's how we'll get the best deal on a new lease. Maybe that's the motivation for our meetings with the council.
The other option is Rupp buys the stadium.
