I’ve just read his excuse on the BBC, have to say it’s the most bizarre thing I’ve ever heard. And I used to think Haye’s bad toe was a bad excuse, but this is next level.

I think the mandatory defence is against Whyte. So any unification fight could be off the cards.

Fury won’t mind greedy Eddie and AJ calling the shots however he was happy to let Wilder have it on his terms and walked through him, AJ will do the same should they fight. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if AJ goes for safe fights, he’s good at that.

Anyway fantastic performance by Fury one of the best I’ve seen. However not the amazing fight some are making out, the best fights imo are those that are neck and neck to the end, it was far too one sided to be a classic.
Hopefully if Fury and AJ do fight it’ll be a lot closer, because I find sport dull when it’s obvious or one sided. Although seeing City win 4-0 now and again would be nice!Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Bronco likes this. -

Wilder looks like a right idiot now declining £120M to fight Joshua. Probably still a low ball offer according to @WilsdenBantam
Great performance from Fury. -

Superb performance and now without doubt the undisputed number 1 in the division. I'm not even sure Wilder will take the rematch either so it's now down to if Joshua has enough bottle to get in the ring with Fury. I'm not sure he has tbh and I think Joshua will try and avoid it but either way he'll have to fight him or Wilder at some point if he doesn't lose the belts again before that.

He turned down FOUR career high paydays to avoid the fight with Joshua and the latest offer was in his own backyard for a sum that would have not just made him one of the highest paid athletes in world boxing but in world sport. To think you tried to tell me Joshua was avoiding the fight and that him and Hearn should give in to Wilder’s demands. He never did want the fight. He took less money to fight Fury and unlike the AJ fight had absolutely nothing to gain in the way of belts.
Him and and the PBC were terrible for boxing. They held that WBC belt hostage for 5 years fighting absolute tomato cans and somehow managed to avoid mandatory challenges whilst doing it. Glad Fury handed his arse to him and I agree that he’ll be the favorite in a Joshua match up but at least there’s half a chance we’ll actually get to see the fight. -
The terms Wilder accepted for both Fury matches were significantly worse than the terms team AJ were offering him and yet he was right to not bend over backwards for Joshua?
Not only is that illogical, but if you think it’s got anything to do with terms or anything of that nature then you need to educate yourself on the PBC, Al Haymon and the way their conduct business.
The difficulty in boxing is that once belts are lost they are very difficult to get hold of again as fighters need to force themselves into mandatory positions with different sanctioning bodies. This means that most promoters to a degree are somewhat cautious with at least some of they fighters and often duck difficult challenges. Nothing new and the biggest culprits of this are the PBc and Al Haymon. They have the most in house fights out of any promotional company out there and the fighters (or managers on behalf of their fighters CONSTANTLY turn down career high paydays for their fighters. The behavior of Deontay Wilder and his team with the AJ negotiations is reminiscent of most PBC fighters.
As for Joshua taking safe options, what are you on about. He has 3 out of the 4 belts and as a Champion is forced into fighting top 10 opposition whether he likes it or not. This is why he has names like Alexander Povetkin on his record. The only fighter in the Heavyweight division who rivals his excellent resume is Tyson Fury. Outside of him, name me a single Heavyweight boxer who’s CV comes even close to matching Joshua’s?
I’ll wait. -

I’ll name 3 who while may not have better, certainly rival his. Ruiz, Usyk and Whyte.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
@bantamdave41 what do you think the odds would be with regards each fighter in a Joshua/Fury fight ?.
-
Look at the facts. Joshua’s got 3 out of the 4 belts in the division. Not only has he beaten 3 world champions to win those belts but he’s also been forced into defending those belts against world class opponents through his mandatories. It’s almost impossible to have as many belts as Joshua has, keep hold of them for as long as he has and fight “safe opponents”. If you believe that, you need to look into what mandatories are because they certainly don’t pick them from obscurity. He’s also beaten, (factually speaking here) more top 10 opponents than anyone in the division including 2 of the 3 guys you’re now using against him. Laughable!
As for the 100M offer, take your pick:

Seriously, how can anyone who follows boxing closely not have heard about this!? It made headlines and is literally all I heard about for months. It’s the equivalent of being a Bradford city fan and not knowing who Stuart McCall is although it tells me everything I need to know.

As for the money so where’s this Wilder was going to receive £100 mil you’re spouting about? I only bothered to read the first article as I imagine they’re the same. But it says £100 mil over 3 fights, guessing maths isn’t your strong suit, as that’s £33.333 mil not including the fact he has to pay tax and trainers promoters etc. He was offered 20% of the contract against Joshua and he’d have had to fight in England. He got an equal share of the Fury fight, the choice of judges and £28 mil after tax in his hand just for the second fight. Who’s my source? Frank Warren himself. Don’t worry I know who McCall is and I don’t miss quote and use the sun as a source.
I’ll leave it there as it’s embarrassing enough, but don’t worry I know Wilder was far happier to deal with Warren and Fury than con man EddieStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...
