Other than the loan at Barrow he's never played below L1 though. 24 years old and nearly 130 games in all comps, definitely something to work with.

I looked on Twitter earlier and a couple of Oxford fans said he wasn't great but that could be them being bitter aswell

The whole side was a car crash wasn’t it? Missed relegation to our divi by 2 points.

Not much of a guide really.

I must admit I know nothing about the lad, but it sounds like from these reports he’s got pace.

its good to see us address this. Costelloe was a headless chicken and had no and product, but was fast, and we missed Chapman’s pace when he was injured.

id love to see us start two upfront to get Cook more involved. That might be too much to ask…..but pace is hard to defend against and we’ve not had enough of it

I generally have a nosy at fans forums of other clubs when we sign their players.

When Smallwood signed, the Hull fans were very complimentary and the general consensus was 'surprised he's dropped to League 2'. He's done reasonably without pulling up trees.

The only notable comment I can find about this lad is 'the sort or player who I always thought I was amazed had become a pro'. With several likes. Not a good sign.

130 games by the time he is 24 isn't a fluke. Several Manager's must have seen the potential.

    Interesting clip
Hopefully an improvement on Angol, first goal he'd have pulled an hamstring, second goal he'd have screwed it 6inches wide.
Just hope Smith gets more game time than Harriet and Young before jettisoned

Who knows how many of those games were from the bench or if he played wider though?
Also, he maybe just needs a settled run in a side to grow in confidence.

I like this signing. He's a good age with plenty of higher level experience and he's a good fit in terms of something we don't yet have at the club.

Ticks all the boxes for me, or at least on paper.

I think that’s Lewis Redmond asking the questions. Every signing, it’s exactly the same. “What attracted you to Bradford City?” etc
It’s all a bit boring and monotone.

    Another 3 year deal though.

On paper seems like he could do a job.,

Aren't most of his games at League One level or higher?

If he drops down and gets more game time, you would think he'd have more success - so I'm not too worried about his record.

He won't be expected to score more than Cook. If he can contribute double figures that would be an improvement on last year by far.

Hopefully with Pattison and Smith we might be more of a handful now and less of the slow casual passing

Seems like a good signing, we desperately needed some pace up front and this seems to tick that box.

I know a lot can change but given the current shape of the squad, I wonder if we’ll see a change in formation. 352/532 looks to be the most suited to the squad we have.

As you say, Tyler never played 90 mins last season although in fairness strikers do tend to get rotated more within the game. More broadly, his playing stats were a bit meh last season. Combined for Hull and on loan with Oxford (with a similar pattern for both) ....

    Available 46 (No injuries recorded)
    Not in squad 15
    Starting XI 7
    Used as sub 14
    Sub not used 10

Tyler played in fewer than half the games which probably helps to explain why he wasn't retained. However, he looks to have a reasonable track record in terms of the level at which he's played. Let's hope we've done our research and we can get more out of him in the coming eeason. His interview suggests he is certainly up for the challenge.

On the upside based on minutes played he's scored a goal every 2.4 games in the Championship ;)
