Bad news in my opinion. It would spell the end of some football league clubs in my opinion and hit others hard in the pocket from lost revenue from season tickets, match day tickets and food and drink as attendances would be seriously affected.
Big no from me

Its rubbish, saying fans would stay away sure, some would, but look at the televised matches on sky there's thousands of fans watching, fans will always go and watch their team, but sometimes you can't, and it's good to have Ifollow as back up. I miss one or two night matches during very cold weather, and its great to watch the match at home ( not every match I might add) I can't in all honesty see a problem with live matches being televised

Personally, I am in favour. I would have watched today's game had it been on i-Follow. Got commitments, which meant I couldn't go to Scunthorpe.

I could be very wrong here but I don't think it would a massive affect on things if I'm honest.
The three or four hundred who so who attend away games regular will not suddenly stop going because it's available on TV.
Look at some of the away followings that come here anyway, some are pitiful as it is. They are hardcore who will go regardless of TV/streaming coverage.
Same with home games, still cheaper to buy a season ticket and fork out a tenner every other week for followTom Hallett, Rogered Tart and Bigrod like this. -
It's a really bad idea for football as a whole. Self-serving clubs and their fans (the very same ones who were so up in arms about things like the super-league) will be better off, including yourselves but it will be bad for the masses especially those outside the EFL where the casual fans are important to their finances. It will also open the floodgates because if the people it's designed to help throw it out why should the PL not sell 3PM rights? And how can there be any complaint about foreign leagues with 3 PM kickoffs having their games shown? Suddenly the marketplace for 3PM football on a Saturday is overloaded without the need to go out to a non-league team, potentially in the rain to watch lower-quality football.

I've heard the arguments against screening all games, but it's 2021 and those arguments are basically waffle and conjecture with no hard basis in reality. Football fans will go to stadiums, it doesn't matter where else they might be able to watch the match, if they can get to the event and watch it live, they will.
Same with any event/spectacle - if there's an option of watching an edited programme from home or go and enjoy the live atmosphere and event, only people that don't really care are going to sit home and watch on TV.
Meanwhile, if you open up the possibility of watching every game to everyone, there's no question in my mind that more people will watch more games of football and that ultimately is what it's all about.
Bums on plastics seats or arses on couches, it can all be monetised, more money = better product.
You look at this Exeter game on Tuesday, about 70 people are going to go. I know it's not a league match, but if you could watch from home, I'm sure most of those 70 diehards will still go, and potentially thousands would pay a couple of quid to watch on a screen.
All of the arguments against showing all games, in my personal opinion, is just second-hand hand wringing from bureaucrats who have vocalised their own personal worries about this, that or the other.
Do you want to watch football? If the answer is yes, make it possible, even to those that can't get there. Why anyone wouldn't open the floodgates is beyond me, and I've never had a straight forward argument for why you wouldn't.borderlescott, Tight1-0Victory and QCFC BANTAM like this. -

Lots of elderly customers I know who would always get season tickets, but would be happy to pay additional to watch home or away in this weather. In addition many people would watch non local away games, but never travel significant distances to an away game.

Not for me. Some things need ring fencing to protect sport and Saturday 3pm kos are one.

I would watch all the games via iFollow if I could, I work 2 Saturdays out of 3 and I live down south so I can’t really ever get to games bar a few each season. At the moment I make do with the commentary.

None starter. The PL will block it.
Sparks should learn from this when it comes to getting a better deal for VP.

Parachute payments would change though. I've said it before and I'll say it again due to the way voting works in the PL its created a cartel of yo-yo clubs that hold all the power. They vote against almost anything that would improve the PL or football in general if there is a slight risk it could see them be negatively impacted. The only way to get them to vote for anything has been to add more money to the parachute payments, this has included a few times votes to increase the solidarity payments which have had to be scaled back so some of that proposed amount gets added to the parachute payments instead just to get the vote through. Unless its something that can be enforced in law it would be impossible to get any reduction through a voteStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand...
