Bad news in my opinion. It would spell the end of some football league clubs in my opinion and hit others hard in the pocket from lost revenue from season tickets, match day tickets and food and drink as attendances would be seriously affected.

    Big no from me

Will be interesting to see if it effects the travelling support, especially midweek.

If the PL follow then I think that could hit some non league teams

Personally, I am in favour. I would have watched today's game had it been on i-Follow. Got commitments, which meant I couldn't go to Scunthorpe.

I could be very wrong here but I don't think it would a massive affect on things if I'm honest.

The three or four hundred who so who attend away games regular will not suddenly stop going because it's available on TV.

Look at some of the away followings that come here anyway, some are pitiful as it is. They are hardcore who will go regardless of TV/streaming coverage.

Same with home games, still cheaper to buy a season ticket and fork out a tenner every other week for follow

Lots of elderly customers I know who would always get season tickets, but would be happy to pay additional to watch home or away in this weather. In addition many people would watch non local away games, but never travel significant distances to an away game.

None starter. The PL will block it.

Sparks should learn from this when it comes to getting a better deal for VP.

This story is just the EFL trying to get more money for the next tv contract.

think it is more to get more support from the PL, will be either given us support or we are doing this with government support

Whilst personally I believe this would be good for lower league clubs, I suspect the PL will try to block it. It might however play into the EFL's hands and provide an argument for a greater share for EFL clubs of the solidarity payment pot. It may be no coincidence that the EFL is highlighting this only a couple of days after the Govt report on football was published. Amongst other things, it recommended more money for the lower league clubs by restricting the level of parachute payments.

And potentially make every season the same six teams swapping places.

It's a really bad idea for football as a whole. Self-serving clubs and their fans (the very same ones who were so up in arms about things like the super-league) will be better off, including yourselves but it will be bad for the masses especially those outside the EFL where the casual fans are important to their finances. It will also open the floodgates because if the people it's designed to help throw it out why should the PL not sell 3PM rights? And how can there be any complaint about foreign leagues with 3 PM kickoffs having their games shown? Suddenly the marketplace for 3PM football on a Saturday is overloaded without the need to go out to a non-league team, potentially in the rain to watch lower-quality football.

I don't know if you have paid much attention but it's pretty much that now, the parachute payments mean that actually most relegated clubs get back up within 3 seasons.

Parachute payments would change though. I've said it before and I'll say it again due to the way voting works in the PL its created a cartel of yo-yo clubs that hold all the power. They vote against almost anything that would improve the PL or football in general if there is a slight risk it could see them be negatively impacted. The only way to get them to vote for anything has been to add more money to the parachute payments, this has included a few times votes to increase the solidarity payments which have had to be scaled back so some of that proposed amount gets added to the parachute payments instead just to get the vote through. Unless its something that can be enforced in law it would be impossible to get any reduction through a vote
