I've no axe to grind with Vaughan but next season we need experienced players like him being fully committed, it could have been a fall out with Bowyer why he went but as I say 100% onboard next season.

I don’t know what happened but I don’t think he ever give us less than 100% in matches he played for us

I never questioned he performances last season in fact at times he was frustrated and made some bad calls getting too may yellows, just reading his tweet I may be miles off but it sounds like he enjoyed his time there regards his comments.

I am sure he did but this sort of tweet is par for the course with players leaving clubs

I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this, but the uncertainty about covid, second spikes, social distancing and the economy falling off a cliff, will mean those expecting things to return to the way they were, might be in for a big surprise.

Revenue has dropped to nothing, potential sponsorship could be down due to spending on the new guidelines put down by the government, unemployment is going through the roof, therefore season ticket sales could be lower. I'm not surprised talk is of loan players and youth promotions.

Rupp, like the rest of the world will have lost money due to record low interest rates. I'd imagine his investment this season will be just enough to keep us going.

We don't know about Rupp situation. This is why Rhodes, yes Rhodes needs to come out and tell fans the truth.

Heard Parky yesterday saying that Sunderland will be active in the transfer market and will be signing the best players they can.

Chelsea are spending money. Mansfield and Port Vale looking to spend. Point is a Covid will hit most hard but not everyone will be thinking we shouldn't spend money.

Until I am told otherwise Rupp is backing the club and will spend.

That can't be true you told us on here that no club will be looking at signing players at this moment in time.

I think if ever there was a season you can go up on the cheap, this is it. absolutely gonna be a buyers market with all the released players and clubs going to the wall.

I reckon Vaughan was annoyed at our style of play more than anything last season. He seems an arrogant hot head but hes an arrogant hot head with talent and I think he would work well with Mccalls style and a couple of smart transfers to compliment him.

I think theres enough that have gone out the door to allow us to bring at least a couple of decent ones in. Guthrie especially is probably the dumbest signing since Kai but I doubt he'll be on a big wedge, hes rubbish

According to Efl hub on twitter (not very reliable) we have opened negotiations with Callum Cooke following his release from Peterborough

Fresh start under Stuart playing his type of football and from what I've been told about the lad really enjoyed his short time at the club even though it was not a great with regards his time here.

In PP's case '..signing the best players they can' is not quite the same as '..signing the best players'. As you have said yourself Fordy, their owner used the Parachute Payments to buy the club then wrote off the £20.6 million in the accounts, Fit and Proper?
They still have players on big contracts so I think Phil's comment is right but it's all relative. I think the Black Cats are not as well off as you may think.

In terms of Chelsea spending money, that's hardly comparable with us. Mansfield have taken steps to get David Sharpe in but I think he may have a PL or Championship outlook on life, good job they have a rich owner, they may need it. As for Port Vale they have some money but not a lot I guess and are carefully run. Yes they are reported to be looking at a lot of players but this includes two from the Welsh League which is not even Conf. North.

As said elsewhere there are going to be a lot looking for a job at the end of the month, including Scannell released by Blackpool, they soon sussed or can't afford, suspect he was on big money which some players have yet to get the message on, example Billy Knott the other week talking about "good money in Conf. South".

Until we know when the season will start for us, with crowds, and thus where the Transfer Deadlines will be there is little point in just speculating.

Stuart said weeks a go he had spoken with one or two players but of course nothing will happen for a while. I suspect we will be in a better position than most when the transfer market gets going again

Further more this break has given the staff and Club the chance to remap and sharpen their focus and ambition. It really feels like a new beginning and surely generating optimism for a successful season when given the green light. If Stuart can match his undoubted enthusiasm by recruiting the talent and quality needed, all is not lost... and much to look forward to.

More decent players released, Farrend Rawson just left Forest Green, remember him being an absolute beast of a centre back this season for them. As well as that Jacob Mills has been offered a new contract, so he's out of contract too. Think he was possibly one of the best left backs in the league last season, although I think he can play left midfield as well. Scored quite a lot of goals too. I know we don't need any more defenders apart from right backs but the point I'm making is not to worry about signing players too quickly as there are a lot of decent ones around out of contract.

Also George Williams has been released. On his day he is total class , but has had a few injuries in the last couple of years.

Problem is when you don't have the money to match what the fitter players want, then you have to take a risk. Like us with James Vaughan/Zeli Ismael, or if you've watched Sunderland till I die season 1 they did it with Jonny Williams, who had a great pedigree, but always injured. Also think that's why Bale won't move, wages but how many games will you get out of him. Newcastle were interested but that's a desperation buy or a marquee buy to keep the fans happy.
