Its vital McCall gets it right in the central midfield engine room. Lewis O'Brien excepted, we have been dire in that department since McCall left us last time.

I believe Sutton can play right back or midfield, I wonder where McCall sees him as his best position, he knows him well of course from his stint at Scunny

Apart from the Parky era where you could argue they got lucky Rhodes, and then Rhodes and Lawn have presided over an administration, three relegations and a flirtation with the conference.

City finished 9th with a top five budget, and that 9th would have been lower had the season not finished early. McCall had some big budgets in his first spell and failed to get promotion.

We can’t even succeed with a big budget so quite why a salary cap would help I’m not sure. If the salary is the same I’m not sure why anyone would relocate or spend a couple of hours commuting each day to a perennially underachieving club in one of the more deprived cities in the country.

Last seasons squad had the following 'Suvveners'

    Jake Reeves
    Kurtis Guthrie
    Connor Wood
    Harry Pritchard
    Sean Scannel
    Omari Patrick
    Tyrell Robinson
    Jermaine Anderson

Yet again your points are nonsense...

After watching Town v Luton last night i've come to the conclusion that everything below top half championship is just garbage....
Town had at least 2 players that cost over £12m apiece and they just couldn't give a schit....
First time i'd seen a club put the cardboard cut outs on the pitch...!!
    God help us...

Very true. A salary cap where every club has a small amount to spend brings into the spotlight the other key issues. It focuses attention on the skills of the manager; the coaching set-up, scouting and of course recruitment. These aren't things where our club has excelled over the years and we might well get found out. I can therefore understand why McCall isn't a fan of a salary cap.

If the club, by which I mean JR and Rupp are opposed to the cap, I'm surprised they haven't said why they are opposed to it or better still proposed an alternative within the EFL. A salary cap will undoubtedly keep the club's costs down, significantly compared to last season. If I were an owner wishing to sell a club whose finances will be healthier under a salary cap regime, I'd welcome it despite what might be being said in public.

And none would have signed with a salary cap in place? :joy::joy::joy:

Yet again your point is nonsense. As always.

    Pritchard came from Blackpool.

That's a club in the North.

    Wood came from Leicester.

That's a club in the Midlands.

    Patrick came from Barnsley.

That's a club in the North.

    Scannell came from Huddersfield.

That's a club in the North.

What an absolutely rubbish list :joy::joy::joy:

Parker hardly commits himself to those names in the article this morning. Don't think he knows who the two are that we're close to.

Perennially underachieving also means a club with potential though - otherwise we wouldn't be underachieving.

I understand your points, but I think the relocation thing is over egged, and I don't see ambitious players not taking into account things like the stadium, perceived size of the club, fan base, and even relatively recent history when compared to clubs like Crawley, Newport, Leyton Orient, etc.

The teams that will lose out are Salford types, and in theory why would we lose players to Scunthorpe as we have in the past?

You said southern players don't often relocate. 33% of our squad was southern.

Just debunking another nonsense post of yours.

They all relocated from the south at some point. You said southern players don't relocate. The list is proof they do.

A salary cap will hinder that. Like other more logical posters have said - our crowd means little to nothing at this level. You are deluded.

    Epic fail in that case.

Try looking at players that actually relocated, not lads that came from Blackpool and Huddersfield :grinning:

    So...

Patrick, on peanuts, relocated for money? Pritchard? Wood? Robinson? Anderson? Guthrie? These are mostly ex non league (Pritchard) or kids.

You're supposed to be picking players that relocated for money, otherwise it's irrelevant to the salary cap argument, as they then wouldn't move if the money wasn't big.

This list is entirely irrelevant to your post. 'But some used to live in the South' has nothing to do with a salary cap.

Parker knows nothing. He's a waste of space. Utter pointless reading the T & A or his tweets etc. Might as well go on here or The Cows Arse if you want to know whats what.

How Parker still has a job I never know.

I can't believe Billy bloody Clarke is being considered. Will Stuart never learn. Back to the old pals act.

The manager needs to be able to spot potential and bring them through, particularly if the salary cap comes in. This has never been a strength of his.

If lower wages across the leagues prevails then housing costs will have a big part to play.
