It really isn’t about the ‘gate’ it is about revenue.

We have large crowds but given such large crowds our income is relatively low due to £150 season tickets.

A club selling 7000 season tickets at £300 has exactly the same income as Bradford selling 14000 at £150.

Luton Town , small town, low income, large immigrant population (sound familiar?) at £350 or thereabouts start to eclipse us once they go over 6000

Yes we sell more pies but not enough to make our ‘big gates’ a major benefit.

Now if we can persuade those 14,000 to pay £250 or £300 (perfectly reasonable price for a season), giving us around £1.5 to £2M more income, then our bigger supporter base really does make a difference.

Right now it isn’t a commercial factor.

But I think we can increase our prices and still retain a fairly decent gate. If we go for it this summer with a back your club in a crisis and put an additional 50 quid on tickets I reckon we would easily shift a similar amount.
People are already willing to give up 32 quid or so from a refund judging by comments on here so I think it’s a perfect opportunity to increase the prices.

we now have a solid base with consistent cheap prices to look at increasing the prices.
it’s ok saying we only sell them because they are cheap but if you did the same deal at Morecambe you wouldn’t get 14-15000 a game?

How do You know what’s planned the manager has said he has been talking to players and is ready to move when we know what’s happening As for refunds if you are desperate for your £30 Contact the club and get it but it would be plain daft to.bring back furloughed staff for the very few who want it

Think you are missing the point. If the club can’t decide or haven’t firmly Decided what To offer in terms of a refund how can we plan for next seasons budget? If we know now how much it will cost us as a club we can budget and plan for that.
I am not desperate for any money back but people will be and it makes sense to me to know that figure and get it paid out now rather than waiting. God only knows what we are waiting for.

Yes we know nothing at this stage but we will have a rough idea of season starting for new signings

Actually I didn’t say we only sell them because if the price.

What I sad was that commercially the large fates didn’t translate in large income due to low prices so using our ‘big gates’ as an argument for not supporting a salary cap didn’t make sense.

But you are comparing us to Luton who are a championship club? Who in league two get similar revenue from gates alone that we get? Even if they are as cheap as they are?

We should use the advantage now and move out of this league.

I do agree an increase has to come moving forward to increase our revenue

The whole putting prices up is irrelevant after all we improved every year for 6 years playing cheap prices got to Wembley twice and were close to the championship twice and throughout we have had competitive budgets. The reasons we are where are is not money it’s mistakes in management and player recruitment. This club shows the way in how to price football and should be proud of it

    Doh!

Is it 3 maybe 4 years ago that Luton were a National league side? And I only used them as an example of team In a town/city not that dissimilar in make up to Bradford.

My point was made in argument to the poster who said that we should oppose a salary cap as we had ‘big gates’ and should use them to our advantage.

My point was that it isn’t about ‘big gates’ it’s about revenue, money, as this is what gives you the wherewithal to out bid, out compete, financially out muscle your competition.

The club has gone backwards and fast in the last 3 or 4 years and with the current pandemic putting a lot of panic behind clubs, the extra income would be welcomed.

For me it served its purpose in getting the feel good factor back and also filling the ground at a time when we struggled for gates. We don’t have to go bakc to ridiculous prices for league two but we can increase sensibly to hopefully increase revenue for the club.

We seem to have this obsessed nature where all money has to be spent on first team players. It does not and then additional half a million let’s say could go towards a scouting and analytical department with Stuart’s say so on who we get?
that would bring is into 2020 and give us an advantage over most of the others in this league. You know think outside the box a bit. Not spending any additional money on the next vaughan or McLean for example

McCall does know them, he gave Recce Saunton his first start in 2017 at the age of 15. I don't know about the others but Reece was on loan last season at BPA

Also what has a large immigrant population got to do with two football clubs?

Possibly Bolton? They were the fourth best supported club in League 1 last season, with an average gate of 11,480.

These were the prices they charged for the balance of their games after 7/10/2019, they were delayed given the financial turmoil. https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2019/september/made-in-bolton-wanderers-launch-season-tickets-for-201920-sky-bet-league-one-campaign/

    ADULT

    £216

    £216

    £278

    £299

It is difficult to come out with a precise figure, but over a full 23 match season would probably average out around £230. If you say they have 10,000 ST’s then are very likely to have more ST income than us.

You aren't factoring in more beer, more merchandise or how likely our 14,000 are to bring a family member or friend to a game with them. More fans also give us more scope with match day sponsors = more eyes and ears.

I also think a larger home crowd can entice a few more away fans to make the journey. Better atmosphere, bigger game.

It isn't exactly the same at all. Lots more beneath the surface.

So a play on loan at BPA who is now 18 has gone into the 1st team squad.. wow I am thrilled.

So he made his start in 2017 which I was there and done nothing for 3 years. Ok then!!

My feeling is we have no money but the club are just not being honest.

Wouldn't it be earlier to have said if you want a refund call and you have until x to do it?

    Why do a pointless survey?

I think the club going back on the offer of season tickets at £150 and the present pandemic and the financial effect that may have on fans would see a big drop off in season ticket sales, a good 2020/21 season with promotion would IMO be a more realist time to increase season ticket prices.

I’d put them up to £230 - tenner a game, people have missed footy a lot, especially Saturday as a whole - few pints with your mates etc. They have to go up eventually, it’s simple economics. 99% of my mates and myself included have actually come out of this pandemic better off financially due to the fact we can’t physically spend our money on holidays, nights out etc. £230 isn’t even a lot in the grand scheme of season ticket prices, couldn’t see us losing many, if any, with a raise to this. An extra £80 from 10,000 adults is £800,000, that’s a huge injection in this division.
