if you finish first you have the best squad of players in that division that season, they have earned the right to that accolade. Just as last season we had the easily the worst squad in the division. Doesn't matter a jot what the names say, its where you finish. This season in the premier league, Liverpool and Man City both have the best squads bar none, Man City's a little ahead of Liverpool. Its all relative to where you finish.

I still can’t fathom how quickly we’ve gone from being minutes from the championship to playing salford in a league game.

we were never ‘minutes away from the championship’. we never led the game, never scored a goal and barely had a shot on target..

 

We were 90 mins from the championship. I'm not arguing that we deserved to win, but we were a game away.
