That 2012-13 side could churn out some shite when it felt like it, the difference Wells made to that team was the difference between mid table mediocrity and promotion.

 

Personally I think we nearly punched ourselves out two thirds of the way into the season putting so much effort into the League Cup. But that side was very very good, better than any of the other teams in the playoffs despite them finishing above us in the league.

It will be tough next season and we shouldn't underestimate the league, but I don't think we should underestimate our own chances either.

I agree with pretty much all of your analysis. O'Connor is toxic - get rid, at any cost. If Gary Bowyer is getting in good dressing room players like Ben Richards Everton, who's a really decent guy and strong character, we need to get rid of O'Connor, first. O'Donnell next, Riley and Wright, too. But the last two will be hard to get rid of. The money that Edin the madman signed them on, means we have a real job to pass them on to another club. Shame that Riley particularly, seems to have so little professional pride that he hasn't looked for a move elsewhere way before now. Hey, keeping taking the wage buddy!

 

Mellor I would be really happy to keep. He and Bowyer get on well, and I feel the manager sees him as a major, major building brick he can trust in creating new foundations for the team and the squad. Scannell and Doyle are probably our biggest earners. Do we keep? They're both, ON THEIR DAY, class performers. But...will they get battered in the Dog and Duck League? Towards the end of their careers, won't they want to be playing Lg 1, maybe even lower end Championship? Personally, hope they both get offers and we can free up their wages.

Luke Leahy released by Walsall, left back/left wing back. 26 and played 90 games in the last two seasons in League 1. Now we have the scout from Walsall maybe we will see Leahy follow?

 

Good shout that, don't know if the lad is any good though.

Quick Google paints him similar to an A O'Connor type character, though. This is just one random writer's POV, but what concerns me is these comments aren't just "he's shit"-type Fordy throwaway waffle, but criticisms of his character.
