We got to reduce the wage bill. Scannell is on a lot of money and the fact we blew most of our budget on JV we need to balance it out. Pritchard is cheap but also could be a real signing in league two. - he got 16 goals in the national league.

Me neither but lets keep the faith, faithful bantam! I'm hoping we will have a couple of new faces in before the window shuts.

Scannell has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent. We will receive no fee.

 

What does this mean for us financially? Are we saving money from the deal or did we pay him off?

 

If a contract is cancelled mutually that’s it on both sides

 

So it was lies about him being ill, he was hob nobbing over in Blackpool.

I'm guessing the McBurnie money will have taken a hit then...

 

It means there was an agreement. We will have agreed a fee for his contract to be cancelled.

He isn't just going to walk away with zilch!!

I think Scannell has been tapped up by one of his former manager poor performances and illness all point to want away player

Seems it mate, lets just hope we can get some additions which will be half decent. Think Wood & Gibson be ok on wings till we get some wingers in or when Ismail is fit

 

I don't see an issue with Scannell going, a friend of mine pulled up his stats and since he's joined us, 1 goal 1 assist... not great is it. On the wings we have Ismael when fit, Gibson and Devitt can cover. As well as Wood on the left. Pritchard is mainly left footed and loves to put a cross in, which I think is a positive. Plus both players will be playing under managers that they have previously worked with and done well with, added to that Pritchard is out of contract in 2020 and if he does well he could sign permanently here, if rumoured to be a loan deal. Therefore I think it's a win-win situation.

Depends. Bowyer may have told him he’d spend most of his time on the bench or the signing on fee from Blackpool may compensate it. Possibly (though unlikely) Scannell May have felt that missing 5 months of last season but being a top earner he maybe owed it to us not to take a large pay off. The fact we’ve taken one of their players in return to me suggests everything was very amicable.
