I would swap him for Spearing!

 

To be honest, we have Wood who I think is a better left winger than left back, then we have ismael, scannel, devitt could probably play there. Then the slim possibility of a Robinson return. I still think the best business we could do is a midfield leader and a striker. Time left yet.

 

I couldn't see that happening but who knows this is football.

Scannell would be big wages off the bill and he is definitely replaceable based on what we’ve seen from him so far in a city shirt. Would be good business.

But only if we can get the right bodies in in time to replace him and other holes we need plugging

In the grand scheme of things I'd say Scannell has been as poor as Akpan!! Be good to get both out but its probably far too late now.

 

Massively harsh imo. In productivity terms it's not a million miles off but injuries have definitely played a part in the case of Scannell.

 

I'm not so sure, I was out of the country for the Liverpool game but watched it on LTV. Spearing was there on behalf of LTV and as best friends with Stephen Darby. He couldn't have helped to have been impressed with the support and esteem that Darby was held in by the City fans. At the same time, I guess that Scannell was at Hudders with Grayson and the latter is obviously, also, building "his" team now at Blackpool. Maybe all this is why GB hasn't got the midfield enforcer yet - he knows who he wants and is waiting for it to fall into place. Could happen......

If we managed to persuade Spearing to drop a division, which I doubt it, it would rank alongside bringing in Paudie, Donaldson and Vaughan, probably even more so, seeing that Spearing is still in Blackpool's first team plans

 

For value for money so far, definitely. He undoubtedly as quality, and should be too good for this league. But there is always that fitness and injury issue with him. Even now, he looks miles off being fully fit

It is and injuries can't be helped (unless you've made an injury worse doing something stupid) but he was always coming as being a sick note but also with game time with Hudders and a reputation for being a pretty good player. I can't remember a game that he stood out as a decent player or someone who looked a higher league player. He doesn't look fit now, he doesn't look like he can sprint and doesn't look to have any confidence in his ability.

Could suggest there could be some legs in the Scannell to Blackpool rumours then. Hed be teaming up with Grayson again too. Huge chunk off the wage bill and we could probably get 3 more in for his wage. For me he's been poor so far, I appreciate hes not fit, yet hes not managed to beat a man all season. Wood looks more threatening from the left. Hope theres some truth in it

I've been disappointed with him so far, I expected much better this season. Him leaving frees up masses in terms of wages but I can't help but thinking it leaves us with too much work to do with only a few days of the window left.
