I wonder what Bowyer will do against Preston mid week, If hes dead set on playing with 3 up front, would u try mccartan (if hes fit) in the number 10 where hes playing doyle, then put scannell as part of front 3 and doyle up front. That surely would work better. Play Devine in centre mid, longridge at left back. Then if those players do well against Preston could it force Bowyers hand to play round pegs in round holes

 

After two outings off the bench surely time to start Scannell and at least get 70 mins out of him. I do get that he's fragile but 20 mins of the bench each week is no good

 

Yea I get hes had a bad injury but surely bowyer would rather start scannell get the goal/goals ahead then sub him off and protect him that way than bringing him on when chasing the game for the win

 

I'm not sure his injury last season can be used as an excuse as to why he's on the bench now when he was back in the starting line up for us from the 13th April!.

 

McCartan isn't good enough.

Turning to Devine highlights how poor a midfield we really have.

 

Yea but mccartan is better than doyle in number 10 and Devine is better than Anderson so until we get new players they have to play

 

And your other half has it quite correct, Mrs O. However, you can only recycle a limited time, before it's no longer any use to wipe your backside with, as Law showed in his later days. Also, look at the stats from last season - City had the greater possession in many games, but won few points. Like a cheap garden fountain, it doesn't waste water, but uses a fair sum of energy to give a moment of pleasure.

No he doesn't and shouldn't play.

What we should be doing is playing 4-4-2 until we sign players that can fit in to 4-3-3.

As for Devine being better than Anderson again that just highlights the joke of offering Devine and Anderson new contracts as one is dog shi@ and the other horse shi@.

 

Yes but as @Offcomedun stated in his post, he was not playing in his natural position or on the right side of the pitch. As a holding midfielder and his ability to pass the ball, he may well be just what the doctor ordered. Plus we are in LG 2 now.

In any event he is most certainly better than what we have now, in my view. Actually I disagreed with the other half, I found him frustrating player, but I have had to eat humble pie in our house because I do recognise the skill he may bring to our team. However, he is an Exeter player and no doubt doesn’t want to come back.

 

I thought the same with Law he may have scored 10 with Exeter but he only scored 4 in 79 for us he never looked the same player that came on loan a few years earlier

 

Well as I said he never felt the love whilst at City, it may have effected his performance.. We have seemed to have lost the art of recruiting attacking midfielders who put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis.

 

Law got some shocking stick on C&B, the crab being one of the better comments.

 

Last one I remember is Dave Syers and Parky didn't fancy him!!!

We dropped a real clanger with Josh Morris too. Another one too attacking for Parky.

 

We've fielded three mediocre midfielders this season.

Hopefully Bowyer doesn't increase that to four mediocre midfielders to appease the clamour for familiarity.

To say he is a young kid, you seem to really have it in for him. Almost obsessively.
