He was excellent for Barnsley a few years ago and they offered him a long contract at the back of it. If he was to reach that standard again he'll be class in league 2.

 

Obviously and that was the point I was making.

 

Not done much for a while and Barnsley gave miller a contract. Seems they sign them in the hope to sell them on later.

I would have taken him over Colville but currently he’s only going one way and that’s down the leagues every season nearly.

Just not sure on the reason for the big reputation. Always gets mentioned on here

 

He’s made 17 appearances in nearly 4 seasons since.

If he gets back to that standard he would be But it’s been a while since he played regular for anyone. Or even scored for that matter.

 

Probably want two or three times the salary of Colville and we have several similar to him on the books

I'm not arguing about his recent credentials, just telling you where he got his reputation from.

I do agree with you though, probably not worth the risk given his injury record and wages.

 

Doesn't Scannell play that position.

 

Yes we have 2 right wingers that’s why we need a left winger

 

That sounds like a thing Rahic would have done, possibly the best right winger in the league in Scannell and we sign back up yet don't have a left winger.
Gary Bowyer has gone down in my estimation basic stuff .

 

Bearing in mind Bowyer is is likely to play 4-3-3 mainly, we don’t need wingers and we certainly don’t need an influx of them. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Scannell play behind a front 2 more than on the wing

Weren’t some saying he’d struggle to get a club at league 1 level?

 

I feel that's the best he could have got - newly promoted club taking a bit of a punt on him. They play decent footy though, may suit him.

I'm amazed he got a championship club purely based on the last couple of years he's had. He has all the ability to play at that level though so good luck to him.

 

If we have no one who can play left in a 4-4-2 formation as and when needed then it's a little restrictive.

 

On more than one occasion Bowyer has bemoaned the fact that we didn't have enough wingers last season, purely based on that I would expect that he is wanting a natural left sided winger.
