He wont I agree. I think weve got one too many who arent up to it in the squad right now to make us shoe-ins for promotion. Really hope there's some movement with these players to allow Bowyer to tweak the squad in the next few weeks but I fear itll stay like this now and we wont be able to ship any out

Bradford City were extremely foolish giving him that contract on the back of a few good performances. 3 years and the boy is just shi@te.

 

Devine, Anderson, Patrick, AOC.. these players are pants but two Bowyer gave contracts too and two we can't get rid of.

However, no team in div 2 has a perfect squad and I would argue our squad is certainly in the top 3.

We're bookies favourites for a reason.

I really want to share your optimism @Fordy117 but I still think we're unbalanced and have too many stocking fillers. One bad injury to Vaughan or Palmer then were then limited in midfield and attack until January. If there is some movement in the next 5/6 weeks and we add more quality then I'm all aboard the sunshine bus with you!

 

I don't think we've got the right balance in our strikers personally. Take Patrick out the equation because I don't think he'll be getting any game time and our strike force is pretty slow, but has a lot of intelligence and fantastic hold up play. I'd have thought a pacey striker would've been top of the list but to be fair we've got more pressing issues out wide and in CM.

 

Mate, I kind of agree.

I've voiced how disappointed I am that we gave Anderson, Devine and Colville new contracts and our midfield is still weak.

I'm disappointed A'OC and Patrick are still here.

However, still plenty of time left in the transfers market and with the PL window closing in 12 days the loan market will start to take off.

With the squad we currently have then it's a top 3 squad for sure but I would like better in midfield and a forward with pace.

 

Sunshine bus, lol, First is simply setting the bar as high as possible so his expectations cannot be exceeded.

While it's possible we meet his expectations, chances are we'll fall short, giving him plenty of fuel to criticise.

 

Matty Stevens has signed for Forest Green, veggie burgers for him then not that there's anything wrong with them if covered in bacon and your choice of sauce.

 

As you say; NOWT wrong with veggie burgers (I prefer my own home made ), They compliment so MANY meats, and an alternative to other potato 'products', particularly chips. That said ....... NOT too great with a Curry !

Agree with general point you are making but I still think AOC might surprise a few this season if he stays (which is looking more likely). It was some of his behaviour last season that got my back up but there is a footballer in there - and just hope the more stable enviroment under GB will enable him to flourish.
I think we are a couple of players away from being as ready as we can be for the new season - still expecting a couple to leave as well

 

He might run away when he does the stadium tour and finds out he'll be eating plants for the duration of his contract!
