I think Devine and Colville are here as they can play various positions, giving us cover.

Devine can play centre mid or right back. Colville, presumably, can play most midfield positions.

Anderson is likely seen as back up centre mid behind Palmer, Akpan and Shay (unless Shay is seen as that worthless pseudo-striker role).

 

I can't see McCartan playing centre mid? Even if he was in there it would be as part of a 5 I'd imagine so Anderson may well make the same 11 as him.

 

But what’s his criteria? Looking for players on Football Manager with an overall rating of 80+ (out of 100?

I would suggest Hornby would be No.2. G. S-K was also on trial for Guiseley on Saturday. Not sure whether that is potentially a permanent move or a youth loan

 

True, but if we need an ‘home grown’ player and GS-K is highly thought of, why not have him on the bench whilst rotating the ‘1st choice’ keepers for the league and cup games?

Nothing in the rules or players’ contracts that, if they aren’t starting a game, they HAVE to be on the bench. Unless he’s just not rated but Devine is???

I'm guessing he is nowhere our first team plans.

 

Or maybe we wanted to give him some pre-season time too and could only field 2 keepers for 45mins, so they agreed to play him?

 

How would Guiseley benefit though?
