Butterfield and Palmer would be an absolute dream central pairing after watching Akpan and Anderson last year.

Both players can actually pass a ball and create. Perhaps we'd be missing a little bit of physicality though?

You did say that. Your whole argument of bringing in another centre half was based on not counting French because "he's a project" and claiming because of that we only had 3 centre halves and not 4.

I have said and maintained, the fact that his own manager, i.e. the guy that signed him, described French as a ‘project’.

In my eyes, I’d describe someone not quite ready as a ‘project’..., but clearly not you?

I meant theres a reason why hes been in the top 2 leagues all his career. But yes, hes on a downward trajectory which is why hes probably on trial during pre season for the first time in his career. Doesnt mean he cant win another contract in the championship though. His age, profile and ability mean there are likely a few lower end clubs in that league that might take a punt.

 

Think you may find Colville deal is done.

 

I think if someone put a video together of Gibson, other supporters would think we had a gem on our hands too. Unfortunately we know different. Videos can be very misleading but from a skill point of view he looks good, but like most wingers he probably suffers with consistency.

 

He is a project, which is why he's a 5th choice Centre Back and not an automatic pick for the 1st 11.

 

You tube clips make every player look like Van Dyk or Messi. Shame they don't show the 99% of the games we don't see. Probably get a true reflection why he's bumming round the Scottish championship.

 

Being a project doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t ready all young footballers can be classed as projects. If he shows up well in training hopefully he will get his chance

Was told on friday night the deal was done by someone who knows his father really well only reason it wasn't done before as he was on holiday plus a few other personal commitments to sort out first.

 

Out of the three young midfielders we offered deals to colville looked the best by along way last season only injuries held him back ps I know the other two are crap
