Has there been public suggestion towards anyone moving on? Highly paid, long contracted, crap footballers aren’t an easy sell at the best of times.

 

They are if we can find a club that have recently been taken over by a German consortium.

 

I think the only thing Bowyer can do is be direct and transparent in explaining that they dont feature in his plans, advise that they should find a move to further their career, but also be reasonable in making clear that for however long they're part of the club, they'll be treated with respect and given an opportunity to force their way into the team if they train well enough and show the right behaviours with the group.

Treat people fairly and honestly. If, in doing that, players dont find a move and neither train or act properly, then they should be banished from the main group as much as possible.

 

Maybe send Riley out on loan if we can get someone to take him.

 

I take it you stopped going towards the end of the season? Otherwise, I don’t see how you believe he finished the season quite strongly.

Better than other performances, but quite strongly? Really???

 

Nicky Ajose has joined Exeter, he would have been ideal as our 4th striker. He would have brought something different up front playing off either Vaughan or Donaldson.

 

Only missed the last home game. Strongly, might be stretching it, I suppose, but he certainly improved a lot after armbandgate.

I believe Bowyer spoke to each player individually after the last game, so each individual will certainly know where they stand, so if any contracted players were told that they were not in his plans, you would assume their agents are trying to engineer a move. I suppose all will be clearer when the window closes in August

I'm already envisioning difficulty keeping our three happy if all are fit - Ajose might be one big name centre forward too many?

That would be a surprise - he was hardly convincing in league one, I wouldn’t think he’d attract championship interest.

 

I hope it isn't true but can't blame the lad if he did move. Get relegated to league 2 then a club comes knocking offering Championship football - a no brainer!

Just think, that would bring Riley up the pecking order!!

If true , then we must receive a fee for him which should go into the budget.

 

We saw the real player towards the end of the season when he was fully fit. Which was true with one or two others players who were never fully fit so we didn't see them at their best Akpan and Scannell for instance
