    Just seen the Ricky Holmes rumour, twitter is rife with it. If we brought that sort of player in and kept him fit I would be seriously excited about the coming season...

    4 months at Gillingham on loan this year, but failed to make an appearance, presumably because of his back injury.

    Would seem a too big a risk in my opinion.

    Akpan played like a man possessed against his old team last year at Burton. Tackled everything, ran all over to be available and dictate play, attacked every corner, scored eventually (I think) and covered every blade of grass. Clearly it was a bit of an eff you to them for letting him go. The rest of his performances were a bit of an eff you to us because he never replicated that form. If he did that every week he'd be like Gary Jones because that's how much he put into every single game.

    Didn’t seem to affect young O’Brien who never let his effort levels drop.

    Yes, I’ve played for teams that didn’t put in as much effort as me. Didn’t make my levels drop though. My competitive edge made me try harder and because I hate to lose

    Apart from a lot of running around, I never quite understood why he received a lot of plaudits. As was Killgallon the year before, he was best of a bad bunch. Nothing special....Callum Guy also springs to mind.
