We conceded from set pieces because our defence was the worst i've witnessed at Valley Parade. No keeper would have made a difference to that. O'Donnell is no better or worse than pretty much every keeper thats been mentioned on this thread. Stick a back four in front of him that actually has an idea of how to defend and you'll see a better keeper.

 

I honestly think its time for us to give just a little bit of love to Stefan, he has made mistakes but I really think he is an honourable man who is trying to be as good as his word in wanting to rectify it. You are totally right that in doing so he is also protecting his own interests but I just want to believe he is determined to right the wrongs under his 'leadership'. It is so easy to be over cynical in this world and for once it would be great if the whole club could pull together in advance of the new season.

I hope and expect that Connor Wood will stay. He looked a decent prospect to me. He has pace, was keen to get forward and appeared to be trying, which is more than can be said for several others. Useful cover for left back and left side midfield.

It does indeed show that. My recollection of Bullock was of a decent utility / squad player. Not the most talented agreed but a good pro who in his time filled in a few positions and never let us down. I've seen a lot worse than Bullock so surprised that his name is on people's mind as the epitome of what was poor about the team of that period.

I can't understand this logic really. Here's a player who scored 11 goals and made 8 assists last season from midfield yet our fans don't want him because he was shite nearly a decade ago.

As stated - Home on 03 September - BUT, bloody back in just 16 hours later with suspected collapsed lung.
A 'small' chest infection had grown and mutated, affecting both my lungs, and stomach ........... So Blues and Two's again, and a further two weeks in Hospital with seemingly endless drips flowing through me.
Back home again, at last, hopefully for good this time, with 13 different meds to take daily for the next 14 days, and then back in for 3 different scans and assessments as an out-patient in early October.

 

That's because McArdle and Hanson were in their prime back then! I said this yesterday but it needs saying again - we have to stop harping back to the past! McArdle and Hanson are nowhere near the players they were for us back then, we need better if we want to bounce back.

Success has NOTHING to do with fan ambition. Absolutely nothing. It has a lot to do with the wealth and ambition of the people pulling the strings, however. Which is not influenced by fan ambition.

I remember Sheehan coming in but it was only because Mezza rejected our contract offers and I certainly don't remember him getting any "pelters" at any point during his time here.

You can't get them all right. Would you rather no rumours were posted/discussed 'just in case'? The speculation and 'in the know' info you're mocking has resulted in one of the most exciting pre seasons I can remember.
