You can repeat it till you are blue in the face it don’t make no difference. He was poor for us pre broken leg, poor post broken leg. The fact no championship club came in for him was the reason he came to us in the first place. Looks like those championship clubs had a good idea about him. Not all signings work, he was one of them. Win some lose some.

He can't have been poor. He got 14 assists in the Championship! Scunthorpe and other top end league 1 clubs were chasing him.

Let's leave it there and call it a difference of opinion.

Looks like Scunthorpe and the ‘other top league 1’ clubs had a lucky escape eh?

If you think he's so good, you could always start a campaign to get him back - he's been transfer listed by Mansfield.

I never said he threw a game. His selection was baffling and with stuff going on in the background it was like he knew he was off and had given up.

Bradford City have rejected Sheffield United's approach to speak to boss Phil Parkinson, BBC Radio Sheffield reports.

It is understood there is figure that would trigger a release clause in Parkinson's contract but the Blades have failed to meet it.

Sheffield United must have been really interested possibly one the richest club in league one at the time, and not prepared to meet the release clause, end of argument.

Assists can be a misleading statistic. If you over hit a cross and the forward produces a worldie first touch to pluck it out the air and lash one in, that’s an assist. Lay one off at the halfway line to someone who runs 30 yards beating a couple of men and smashing one in from the edge of the box - assist.

    Anderson was crap for us.

The discussion isn't about his performances for us, It's his performances prior to breaking his leg.

You don't get 14 'lucky' assists. I bet Gillead wishes he luckily put it on Wyke's head 14 times.

Which to be fair, is a completely irrelevant discussion.

I wouldn't know as I didn't watch him. As a stat it sounds good. But stats can be misleading. A consistent record of high assists, particularly for more than one side would be solid evidence of being a very good and creative player. No idea whether he has that.

A single season of high assists might have more to do with whoever was actually putting them away.

Put 10 crosses into a box for a top forward who puts most away = plenty of assists

Put 10 in for someone who's crap = low assists

His first goal for the club at home to Carlisle in the 2013/14 season wasn't a bad one or his winner at Preston in the 2014/15 season .

It's not irrelevant. Those that are stating Anderson was rubbish when we signed him, think Gillead has been a good signing. One got 14 assists in the Championship and the other got none in League 1.

    You work that one out.

Reasons it is irrelevant (in my opinion) - 1) regardless of whether he had 14 assists in the championship prior to joining us matters not a jot, and is a moot point anyway as Faithful Bantam has already illustrated. What's important is how he was for us and he was crap. 2) he hasn't kicked a ball for us since 2016 so why does any of this even matter?

Yeates showed moments of real class that demonstrated why he'd played at a higher level. He lacked consistency and at times a looked a little pudgy and not as sharp as he should be.

Whereas Anderson just looked shit. Slow, on the fringes of games, nothing to write home about in terms of anything he did on the ball.
