I'm not going to defend the current owners for the way we're been run, but this is a little unfair. Under the Lawn and Rhodes "dream team" as they now seem to be, we didn't get our first promotion until they had been in partnership 6 years and the things you mentioned either happened at the same time or well after that(although one actually happened under the current regime). Nearly taking us to non league on a couple of occasions.

The new owners have made mistakes but to compare their successes just doesn't add up, it's nearly impossible to acheive something in two years what the others took 10 to do.

 

After 10 years of hard work and notable successes, why rip it up and start again?

 

It wasn't all success though that's the point, Lawn admitted he'd taken us as far as he could with their strategy. The new owners are obviously trying another way to compete, as we aren't in the same league financially as most in the championship. It might not work but we couldn't keep looking from window to window forever. In 2015/16 we didn't have a cup run or player sale of note, if they'd have stayed for the 2016/17 season our budget would have been seriously cut back as we didn't have the income from the 4 years previously.

 

I'm convinced we'd be in the Championship now under Parky.

 

Fair enough that's your opinion, but you have only mentioned Parky not the previous owners and their "strategy". Tells me that most of the success was down to the manager not the way the club was been run, which imo was poor before they appointed Parky. Parkinson tried to leave in 2014/15 to Sheffield United and frankly got a better offer at Bolton, I still think he'd have left under the previous owners anyway.

 

Nearer the end of his contract, it’s not January and he’s desperate to leave and chesterfield need the money now.. if they wait till say jan they’ll get very little or nothing. He’s said he’s not gonna sign a new deal

I agree, I’d be amazed if he signed a new deal so would presume he’ll go this summer if an acceptable offer is made anything around the £750k mark would be accepted

 

Spot on. Parky leaving happened to quickly after the take over for it to have not been on the cards before the takeover. Nothing rack “n” ruin could have done to stop him because with his history of empty chairing Huddersfield he couldn’t risk going back on an agreement with a second club

One meeting with Edin was all it took. Parky was very sceptical of foreign owners anyway after his experience at Charlton.

 

Some come back the same player, some don't.

 

Their strategy was to back the Manager with every penny they could get, going into the first team budget.

You can criticise the strategy but ultimately they gave us great success.

We could have had another year of it, if they had chosen Parky over Jacko.

To suggest Parky threw a game is just bollocks.
