At the time last season I thought it was the right decision to let Darby go, nothing to do with that, although Darby would never have had a January off.

The two likely scenarios are he refused to play wanting to move, or he really was suspended for racism. Either of them and he should piss off. Feel free to come up with a more realistic alternative, and no he certainly wasn't injured.

And the fact he's poor defensively anyway, it's rare a full back like McMahon can make ordinary league 1 players look like Ronaldo or Bale. As for Drive, determination etc. what is that other than buzz words, other than his set pieces (of which he takes everyone, so of course will get his fair share of assists) when has he changed a game with his "character"?

 

Is that the same determination and drive that went AWOL when City needed it most, in January ?

People seem to have just decided that mcMahon refused to play for us, and it's been taken as fact by many....but it isn't fact. he never refused to play for us. he didn't want to leave, we tried/wanted to sell.

 

So why didn't we then? Scunthorpe wanted him. They put a formal bid in which we rejected.

 

McCall refused to play him then, even though we had no other RB?

 

Maybe they asked for more than Scunthorpe were willing to offer........

Sorry @Ricc but that, in addition to our form taking a nose dive means the numbers do not add up.
Are we to believe he was a disruptive influence, so Management wanted him out ? So disruptive that all his team mates backed him, by turning up just to grab their wages for doing jack shit ?

it was rejected because McCall was adamant we couldn't let him go without a replacement coming in.
there was a fall out - which didn't help with relations between dressing room and upper management at that time, and McMahon was effectively left in the cold until it became clear we weren't getting another bid and he couldn't go. i.e the end of the window.
