Indeed, they may well not be good enough individually and they don't have much we can go on to decide if they're good signings or not.

But that's a massive generalisation you're making.

What relevance does it have that those EPL teams (bar Chelsea) struggled in the Checkatrade, when you're talking about individual players?

That's like Fordy's intimation from last season that you somehow can't get good players from poor teams.

 

That last statement is absolutely ludicrous. He says we were a poor side but Peterborough were 1pt better. I wouldn't mind Maddison, Marriott and a few others!!! Oztumer previously at Walsall another.

 

Spent a bit of time scouring the Internet this morning and can officially reveal I found nothing.

 

Most of our transfers under the reign of Rahic and Rupp have been announced out of the blue.
Confirmation that we had been showing interest in O'Donnell for weeks, yet to the best of my knowledge not an inkling of a rumour, then signed out of the blue, is a good example.
That said, most of us trawl sites in the close season looking for snippets that seem plausible.
Any ideas on our next signing anybody?

 

I think the club is waiting to see what happens with Wyke because that is going to decide priorities

 

Let's hope clarity over Wyke is settled one way or another very soon, so we can prepare to finalise the squad as soon as possible before the big kick off

 

I don't want to argue semantics with you but I wouldn't be waiting.

We want you, we want you to sign this but if you haven't by mid July then we sell you.

 

What if Wyke stays? It's known he's not a 'target' man as such and the system we're led to believe Collins prefers ie: two up front, is therefore an ideal platform for him and the club.

 

Nope and the only 3 players linked are Grant, Mamba and Crooks.

 

I hope he does....but I am hoping talks are underway and we need to resolve the sooner the better. If he doesn't want to stay then we need to listen to offers. I would take anything between £750k-£1m personally.

Agree if Charlie is not going to sign another contract as our coaches are not playing a system with Charlie as our main striker we may have to bite the bullet and sell him for less that we would have originally wanted, we get money in lose his wage (although I wouldnt have thought he would have been the highest paid player af Valley Parade) and we get on with what we have.

 

Word will get around to clubs who might have been interested in Charlie at lets say £1m that our new prefered system does not rely on the likes of Charlie, therefore I would be delighted to get £1m but think we will finish up taking far less, although it will be "undisclosed" Im sure.

 

Not so sure about mamba, but would be very happy with either Grant or Crooks, or ideally both!

 

We'd be lucky to get 750k to be fair. I'm not sure his stock has risen much since he moved to us. He's our best forward by a country mile and replacing his goals isn't going to be cheap or easy.

I'm led to believe that he's not a million miles away from resigning but he holds the cards and knows other clubs are interested.

I still think he'll be our player come August.

 

That would certainly make a nonsence of what the lad said at training Thursday morning but not disagreeing @Mason Handshake.
You certainly wouldn't get Charlie resigning on (better terms) then play a system that doesn't require a player to play within that system IE two quick frontmen.
Going to be an interesting month, I think most of us believed Charlie wanted out.

 

I can see Charlie going late on in the transfer window then we will be left scratching about to get someone in or Edin refuses transfer then we have an unhappy player on our hands that will go for next to nothing come January

Maybe not Bronco but to me you build your system around your best players and Wyke is our best forward.

If all it took to be a forward was lightening pace then Usain Bolt would be playing for Barca.

 

Unfortunately that's a distinct possibility. The move has to be right for Charlie and the money right for City for it to go through.
