Callum Guy is nowhere near creative enough for what we currently look like we lack in midfield.

 

His passing is poor imo, not sure what people saw in him other than he liked a tackle. Nowhere near the class of a Cullen, which if we are heading down the loan route we need a player closer to his ability. Guy would only be worth it if it was permanent as something to work with and improve.

 

I sincerely hope that isn't in any way linked to someones arse being on loan.

Agreed. But we also lack anyone in midfield with an ability to tackle. We need a defensive and an attacking midfielder

 

Whilst I agree with almost all of what you have said on this matter, I don’t believe Leigh was the answer anyway. Another player that gets forward well, but his defending is also lacking.

We have signed half a squad based on u23 games. The same level that struggled against L1 and L2 sides in that Mickey Mouse cup. But if they were on the books for Premier League/Championship sides, they MUST be good enough for L1 right?

It’s obvious that there are some on here that are buying into the ‘German idealism’. Just as well they weren’t around in 1939..!

 

So, the obvious question is why do you want to know....?

Tim Dieng was over 6ft but his height didn’t help him dominate midfield. Both Guy and Cullen were better despite lacking height

 

Interesting question, Tawheed was slagging off some of our players and then finished with "well equipped my arse!" I took the conclusion that he's under the impression that his arse was better equipped to play left back than our current crop of players and asked if it was available for transfer. Simples really. :thumbsup:

No, I was using poetic licence as I didn't agree with his view.

 

What do you disagree with? That Wood Is an unknown or that Chicksen and Robinson aren't good defensively?

 

Then just say you don’t agree. Much easier to understand your point then.

For what it’s worth, I agree with him. It’s ok having a squad full of unknown, promising players with bags of potential. But there is no guarantee they will perform and it would be safer to have some back-up that you know what you are getting.

Remember, there is no loan window once the season pretty much starts. If they don’t start well and their exuberance and confidence goes, we can’t address it until January. We must have a planB before it comes that. Chicksen and McGowan aren’t the answers

Ah, I see. I just got confused with you needing to write “Vince, Reeves, Wright - all about 5 foot 9 and under” if it had nothing to do with height. Silly me.

One of the strongest midfielders in our league the last couple of seasons was Spearing and he is smaller than I.

 

It is on the site of the old Tile Kiln farm more or less. Beehive Lane runs from the Beehive pub (now boarded up) in Baddow Road to Galleywood. Lathcoat's Farm Shop is on the right heading to Galleywood almost directly opposite Abercorn garden centre. It is a bit pricey but sells good stuff. Its speciality in early autumn is apples grown on their farm and their own pressed apple juice in different varieties.
