Glad to have already played Tranmere, Crewe and Donny. Stevenage at the weekend are flying under the Fat **** (substitute whatever profanity you feel appropriate) - win that and I'll up us from an expected 7th placed finish to maybe 5th.

 

Is it time to replace Crichlow with Odusina? I thought he was out muscled tonight and struggled under pressure. With him taking a few knocks in the second half, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on the bench.

 

I cannot see it Jon they looked very poor when we played them last season at VP and I’m sure they had a poor end to the season ????? Teams that tend to do that normally carry that form into the next

Anyway, that lad up front who scored looked sharp, and hit the post as well as scoring, if he hits form they should be all right. I thought they pressed well, but we had more cutting edge overall.

 

The first half was Gilliead's best 45 in a city shirt. He and Smallwood looked fantastic. Second half less so but several seemed not to pick up on the fact that Tranmere would have a rollicking at half time and come out of the traps fast. Great 3 points though.

 

I think coming off injured is the perfect excuse to give Songo'o or Odusina a run out on Saturday - Hughes will probably make a few changes.

 

Platt was superb tonight motm for me

Gilliead I've been very critical of but even I thought he had a very good 1st half

 

I commented on Platt first half and at half time. I wasn't sure after his game at Barrow but impressive since.

Along with Cook and Lewis, Platt been very able and consistent this season. More telling in games

 

Have to say I agree. Platt was immense.

 

Good, solid away win that. First half was total control and the early goal helped massively. That and Tranmere being very poor.

They clearly had a rocket at half time and came out trying to play more aggressively and with more intensity and we were naive in our game management which allowed them to gain momentum. Just have to learn to slow the game down and not keep playing like we're losing all the time.

Cook superb for his two goals but Platt was absolutely solid. Crichlow worries me as he's not very good aerially and was all over the place in that second half. Maybe time for Timi on Saturday.

 

I'd be surprised to see him on the bench if I'm honest. We don't know how bad the knocks he got were but that aside, he's not looked at his best for the last couple of games so I think resting him would be a good move.

 

Shout out for Halliday as well. He's come in for a fair bit of criticism on this board since he's been here but he's not done a lot wrong for me.

 

One of his supporters here, some great one on one defending again and his run through the middle was the reason we scored the second. To go with the fact he’s currently our top assister and hasn’t made any howlers I still can’t see why he’s come in for stick. Missed an entire season as well and didn’t have a full pre season. He’ll do for me.

 

Have to say Cook is proving me wrong. Didn't think he should be anywhere near the starting eleven at the back end of last season. Some great finishes so far.

 

Up and down performance but great result, Chapman’s shit at the end unlucky not to make it 3-1 as well. Tricky place to go, they have got off to a poor start but before tonight had won 2 of their 3 home games.

Onto Steve Evans now, we may need to lay down in a dark room after that one regardless of the result!

 

People have been waxing lyrical about him but I've thought Platt has held things together and Crichlow has far too many mistakes in him. Not sure Hughes will break up a winning partnership though, unless injury eases the decision.

 

Depends on the opposition.

 

Bunch of big hairy arses next I suspect Kev judging by the manager! Might be worth bringing Songo’o in, you always get the dark arts and a battle with a Evans team.

 

4 days now to hone my complete hatred for the fat sweaty tw@t that is Evans and his “arms out wide constantly in mock dismay” little lapdog Paul Raynor.
