Maybe, but do you have the confidence in our recruitment strategy to bring in somebody of equal or greater quality? I don’t

He isn’t shite. There is a reason some of the big hitters in this league were looking for his services in the summer and in January. You’re showing just how clueless you are.

Do you think he is a team player? Do you think he is a fighter when the chips are down or is he just a fair weather performer? Where was he in January?

Where was he then? And for the record he was part of successful city teams under parky and Stuart, so yes I do think he is a team player. I don’t claim to have any knowledge of what happened in January so I won’t speculate

McMahon had his uses, his gamesmanship and set pieces being the main ones it would be daft to criticise these we struggled without them when he went "missing" in January.

Where he can be criticised is his defending, he's looked terrible at times this season against quite mediocre players and he's a big reason why our goals conceded is as bad as it's been for years.

Parkinson played him as a right mid with Darby covering, probably his best position in a more defensive team. He worked well in McCall's first season as we had better players around him, dominated the ball which allowed him to get forward more or less at will.

People can talk about other interested parties but at the end of the day Blackburn had him in the building and decided against him and went elsewhere, Scunthorpe didn't have a RB in January so were looking for somebody as a stop gap, and Peterbrough's defence was their weakness having to play 18 year old attacking mid Leo Da Silva Lopes there for large parts of the season.

Look at the top 6, how many have RB's with his assists? But also how many have conceded as many as us? Parkinson used to get defenders who's specialty was defending, I'd rather go back to that train of thought.

Suspended by the club for making an anti European comment to Edin apparently. Personally I think he went on a "Northern Lights" cruise to Tromso and the club covered for him.

The determination would be there, but I'm afraid the legs have gone! Better suited to a managerial position now -- former ward sisters know how to make things run.

He stays in hotels anyway. Him and Charlie drive up late on Friday evenings then stay in Bradford, home straight after the game.

Sorry but that is poppycock. Unless you can provide stats that prove most of the goals conceded came from our right, then I’ll suggest you are being mischievous.

The whole back 4 weren’t good enough collectively. Playing a winger at left-back didn’t help and Vincelot hardly excelled when he covered for NKP. And don’t get me started on Saatelmaier or Raeder.

But according to you, it was all down to McMahon. Absolute bullshit...!

But that wasn’t the point being made. He was responding to Fordy’s claim that McMahon is ‘shite’.

Regardless of whether you believe he isn’t a team player, doesn’t fight for his team mates when the chips are down and went on strike in January, none of those prove he is a shite player

Cougars you're the only one who is talking bullshit, where have i said every goal we concede is down to him?

But he is part of a defence that has been the worst we've had for some time, he plays apart of this. There are reasons Parkinson didn't want to play him at RB even preferring to play him at centre mid, like Grayson when he tried to play Chickson RB against Blackpool. I want us to bring in defenders whos specialty is defending, like Parkinson did. As any pundit tells you the best teams build from the back.

Try debating without using insults and swearing and maybe people wouldn't think you're a bellend, but I suppose a cougar can't change their spots.

Insults? Get a grip. I said your blinkered view was bullshit. If that offends you, dear God you need to grow a pair.

You wrote, “he's a big reason why our goals conceded is as bad as it's been for years“. I responded by asking for some evidence to back this up. I don’t want heresay as to who played him where and why. Facts sunshine, facts..!

McMahon is more than adequate at his level but was JOINTLY responsible for our poor defensive record and certainly no more culpable than the rest of them.

Unless you can prove that most goals conceded game from his side.

And for the record, calling some a ‘bellend’ is more offensive than saying someone’s opinion is bullshit or poppycock

Agreed, I'd describe him as an average player with a questionable attitude.

Always polarises opinion does McMahon. Not sure we will ever know what really went on in January that led to McMahon being unavailable to the end of the transfer window. Fact is in the time he's been at the club he has been good value for us. An influence on and off the pitch who always puts a shift in. I'm not overly keen on his theatrical antics and there are certainly better players around league 1 in his respective positions. But if we don't keep him on the books i'm sure someone in our division will pick him up, managers seem to like his dressing room influence.

You are a bellend though, you can't debate with giving little insults and getting in a tiss with yourself. No I'm not offended just pointing it out that it adds nothing to the forum, I thought most on here were adults? Evidently not.:(

Look, I am sure a manager would take him but that applies to most pro footballers.

McMahon has been Ok for us but he is on the decline. He's slow, his free kicks are now ineffective, corners are rubbish and pens are not great.

We need better than Tony McMahon now but if you want to keep hold of old bangers then that's fine but I would like us to say Thank you and goodbye now.
