‪So Peterborough chairman Darragh McAnthony confirms that Tony McMahon turned down a 2 year contract at Peterborough to sign a one year contract at City !!??‬

‪Jesus Christ! The only reason I can think of is it is too far to commute from Middlesbrough.

Fair enough, I don’t know his family circumstances but maybe he just doesn’t want to relocate, commute or stay in a hotel. Can’t argue with that. Maybe he saw City as a better promotion chance. Or the wages at City were better than Posh.

It was probably the commute rather than the wages.

I wouldn’t trust him with a Muller Fruit Corner.

Shame he didn't leave in the summer also.

You starting to see why we finished 11th.

To many rubbish players in each position.

I’m saying you’re talking nonsense. If he had have left in the summer, there was nobody in the squad even close to his level to replace him.

How desperate are some of our supporters. I wonder if anyone will take a risk on a player who has a lot of injured miles on the clock?

Sadly, I think it will be very hard for James Hanson to get another league club now. Is he out of contract now?

Back on thread topic, I think Tony McMahon will have plenty of offers this Summer. We know now that Scunthorpe, Blackburn and Peterborough all seriously considered him; all of these are decent league one sides. He has his faults, he is a lower league footballer after all, but he is one of our better players.

I was talking to James last week. When I half jokingly asked if he would want to come back here, his response was 'I wish'. I think he knows he will now have to look further down the pyramid to secure a club, if he wants to stay in football.

    I'm saying that's the problem.

He's shi&e and his back up is even more shi@e.

Too many shi&e players in each position at the club.

Why not Roger? Think Killa and the number of games he played until this season. When we signed him, people were right to be concerned that he had a poor injury record- turned out well.

Some on here liked Steve Davies (striker) who has had plenty of injuries in his career, but he scored some important ones for us and, more importantly, for Dale since he left.

And I’d still have Andrew Davies back tomorrow despite his injury record.

Ryan Giggs and Steve Gerrard were 2 of the best players in the PL over their careers. Both had major injury issues at times. Let’s face it, if you’re good enough, then clubs will take a chance. After all, injuries are down to luck as much as how you play, train and look after yourself.

Now, the question is, is Hanson ‘good enough’. That’s a different ball game altogether
