I believe Bowyer would be the first to accept he's made mistakes, hopefully he has learnt by his mistakes and it looks like that is what Bowyer is doing, we have players coming back (hopefully) who I believe will improve the squad, we've all commentated on the input Rupp can have going forward I hope he backs Bowyer in the January transfer market a couple of quality signings good enough to get us over the finishing line.

But don't get all hung up on Bowyer and Rupp, mate, there are a few other important people who might have an impact on our season.
You know, the players?
Anyway, I think we'll definitely be top seven, I think we've a good shot at top three, and that's outstanding considering where we were last season. Well done Bowyer and Rupp (and the players) [so far].The Evidence, RCarol and Fordy117 like this. -
Look of course i feel our club is great and maybe I need to lower my expectations but honestly I do believe we need to set the target high for the good of the club.
Ross sacked by Sunderland and if Lambert & Ipswich were in Sunderland position he would of gone as well.
We're a big club in this division and as soon as you make excuses or lower expectations then you just become a middle of the road club that stands for nothing. Look at Man Utd now! You have the free ticket ex players making excuses for Ole and the club. It's embarrassing! Ole has gone from talking about top 4 now to top 6 when in truth he should be talking about top spot of at least being the better than Man City! Utd fans need a better manager and should be aiming higher. Not facing a relegation battle.
I think the league is weak. I think we will be top 3. I think the club are confident of it also. You don't let a player like Doyle go to a div 2 club if you're not confident of going up yourself.
Crewe, Forrest Green etc are no different to Swindon and these clubs are average.
I see no reason mate for us not being top 3 and I am known as Mr Negative on here!Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Inspector, RCarol and JonButterfield like this. -

Regarding Sunderland I actually agree that they sacked Ross. Last year he had the biggest budget ever at that level and should have got promoted, he’s a negative manager out of his depth, it goes to show why people shouldn’t take achievements achieved in Scotland to seriously, which some do on here.
Different situation for us because we don’t have double everyone else’s wage budget. If we got the same amount of season ticket sales but people paid £300 we could have a far bigger budget, but it’ll never happen at this level or the one above. I’d love to see us win the league and raise the price to say, £220 people might just pay that after the buzz of a league win and it would give us the sort of budget to compete for promotion at the next level which is what we all want.Stop hovering to collapse... To imply we've had a poor start is laughable and to have expected us to be romping away with it is arrogant and disrespectful.
We've had a solid if non-spectacular start which has put in place strong foundations to allow us to push on. We are in a good position right now but it can all change very quickly.
The pleasing thing is we are gradually looking better game by game. Let's hope the good performances and wins keep on coming as we have given ourselves a real chance to take a foothold in the promotion race.
P.S. This is not aimed at Jason but is my general opinion on our start.RCarol, Wolfysmith and Jason McKeown like this. -
I may be biased as Jason has published a couple of my articles but it seems a fair and balanced piece that still reserves judgement, praises the team and the development yet still questions some of the signings etc but also realises like any normal supporter that there's still a long way to go.
The questioning of the article is way over the mark imo.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Offcomedun, JimmyBantam and Jason McKeown like this. -

I don’t agree with anyone that thinks we’ve had a poor start, because frankly, we haven’t. It is widely acknowledged that a very good side will pick up 2pts per game over a season. If we do, we’ll be close to winning the title.
And yet, despite inconsistencies in some of our games, we are only 3pts behind that target. We have only dropped 5pts from our home games, collecting 13 from a possible 18 (4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss). Whilst that is not amazing, it’s nowhere near being classed as ‘poor’. It’s our away record that is letting us down and if we can improve this, starting Saturday, we won’t be far away come May.Bronco, WilsdenBantam and Offcomedun like this. -

Plymouth, Scunthorpe, Walsall and Salford should all be doing better than they currently are, whether that's enough to put them in the higher echelons is another matter - almost certainly not for Scunthorpe, but I wouldn't be surprise if they troubled the top half at the end of the season.
It's not about 'better sides', it's about competition - and while people decry this division, actually, in terms of competitiveness it blows the others out of the water.
There really aren't any easy games, everyone is pretty even give or take a couple, and the way to get promoted is consistency - which ultimately, is not in the hands of Bowyer or Rupp. It's in the hands of the players.
Anyway, really enjoyed chatting with you tonight, Fordy.RonnieBrown and RCarol like this. -

You could say Bowyer was unlucky to get the job.FrenchBantam and Andy Pringle like this. -
People look at you as a bit of a wind up merchant, a bit like myself. That maybe true to a certain extent but like us all you expect high standards from all at the club.
I would be slightly more generous than you and give both GB and the players 5 out of 10. With Bowyer I expected evolution rather than revolution. Having said that like you I expect promotion this season. The players we've signed plus improvement GB can get out of last season's dross AND any movement in the January transfer window should be more than enough to get us up.
