Disagree with you about Bowyer not doing anything yet. A blind man can sèe the difference he has made to the playing side of things. He has also more or less ended the mistrust between the fans and players.

You can see the difference on fans faces on matchdays now

He has seemingly recruited fairly wisely in the summer.

He has improved the performances of Wood, AOC and O'Donnell massively since the summer. He is doing his utmost with Akpan too.

We are in the top 6 only 3 pts off the top spot, despite the slow and haphazard start to the season.

You keep banging on about automatic promotion is a must this season otherwise he will have failed. It would be good thats for sure. But considering the wreck he took on, a play off spot would be an achievement in my book.

There will be ups and downs this season for sure. But I firmly believe we have the right manager in place to get us promoted

This is a very bizarre post. Have you got too much time on your hands or something? You are looking for meaning that isn't there. I don't know what agenda I am supposed to have. I run an independent website. There is no one I have to worry about pleasing. I'm just someone who likes writing about City.

As I wrote in the article, I was sceptical about Bowyer after last season and after an average start. But fair play, you can see improvement over recent weeks and that he is building something. That doesn't mean backtracking or revising opinions - I still think he was lucky to get the job - but just giving credit where it is due.

A long way to go, and things can change. But Valley Parade feels like a much better place to be. I'm sure we can all agree that's a good thing.

To be honest ever since McCall was sacked, the club has been crying out for a bit of positivity. Not long after Bowyer's appointment, you could tell we had instilled some proffesionalism, structure and also a bit of warmth back . The club was in a right mess before this, so you've got to give him some credit for that.

I know it's not been great at times football wise, but the guy has a track record and we just need to be patient. He's taken a good look at the team and seen what areas need focussing on and aside from being a bit short in midfield, I think he's done a good job recruitment wise.

He wasnt kidding when he said it was going to take time. We're not going to smash up this league and we've got to be patient. If he gets it right with us, then who knows where we can go. I really believe the potential is there once we get on a roll and we have the right man at the helm.

    Whats not true ?.

How can you score Bradford City 6/10 yet score Bowyer 4/10, Bowyer is the reason you've scored Bradford City 6/10 surely ?.

Agreed, let's hope the momentum does carry on.

Clearly people's opinion on how good a start City have made to this season is a subjective one. I personally do not consider it anywhere near a poor start - I refer you to Scunthorpe as an example - but it is also far from an excellent one. It's been solid but unspectacular. However, like I said before it has laid a solid platform from which we can build on.

Results have been better than performances in general but when you are coming off the back of a season where it was generally defeat after defeat then I guess the importance to the start of this season was to stop the rot and regain our confidence. I would say Bowyer has been doing exactly that.

I don't think Jason's article is back peddling more like he's giving GB his dues for turning the sh#t show that was the previous 18 months of ERs time at the club around.
TBF I've read a few match reports on there this season and they've been fairly depressing reading. Certainly no happy clapping for GB.
I read the piece as cautiously optimistic for the rest of the season whilst acknowledging the positive changes GB has so far made. It comes across as: We're still a work in progress but a least we're heading in the right direction.

From where we finished last season there has been a big improvement in one window. And Bowyer deserves credit for that. Of course it has to be sustained but it's a good start

That would suggest they are no different to any other Bradford City fan, you only have to take Bantam Talk as an example,to some the last result defines our season.

I thought a lot of the criticism early on was valid. Formation changes every week, no width, Anderson, Akpan, Devine and Gibson all getting game time, a toothless midfield, teams walking through us without a DM and some uninspiring performances. What Bowyer deserves credit for is sorting it all out in such a short space of time. The signings of Donnelly and Pritchard addressed the lack of width and pace in the side and the addition of Cooke has brought in some much needed quality in the centre. He had to get those 3 signings spot for and to his credit, he did.

We've gone from looking like a bang average mid table team to top 7 minimum.

I do think even though the WOAP articles are good, they do get carried up in the moment very easily. I was skeptical reading their earlier stuff about us at the start of the season. Not really given the team time to gel, now we are gelling its going quite well.

Would bet some money that WOAP will be filpping again when we go on a bad run.

Last season we were the worst team in the league.
Had last seasons team played in this division we would now be the Conference
If you want to benchmark this, watch our performance against Aldershot (relegated from the conference)
The top half of L2 is not much worse then L1 despite noise around it being a “dog & duck league” - look at how promoted teams do in L1 V relegated teams to L2.
Compare our start to the other relegated teams
When you look at statistics, GB is doing a great job of rebuilding a Brocken club.......
A message to @Fordy117@Fordy117, happy clap and enjoy the ride!!
I honestly believe we will be promoted this season, To quote the Jungle book, accentuate the positives, forget about the negatives

This is just weird mate. Why bother dragging your ass to VP if you aren’t going to smile when we win? Even in games you expect us to win, surely the fact that we did should put a smile on your face? To suggest you didn’t have a smile after that win is just strange.

I know you seem to have a rep on here for being negative, but even this is a new level for you.

Sounds to me like you go to VP thinking about nothing at all.

You don't smile when we score or clap at all or be happy when we win.

What do you go to VP for exactly? Cos from the sounds of it you aren't there to cheer the team on and support them -so its a pointless few hours of your life wasted when you could be home polishing your huge Merc or seeing to your midget ensemble.

@Fordy117@Fordy117 knows its only banter, should we be expecting to beat the likes of Swindon who came with a good away record unbeaten away from home this season, we know any present City side can be Jekyll or Hyde hopefully more Jekyll than Hyde for the remainder of this season.
I was confident last Saturday because we can see improvements even at Cheltenham we should have brought a point home but I'll keep my powder dry for Morecambe but I have put my prediction down as 2- 0 City ;).

I agree here. They've become like all scribers in newspapers / internet etc - guilty of simply writing articles because that's what everyone does now

Any sensible fan knew that it was extremely unlikely that we'd be fastest out of the gate - the fact that we're the fastest of the relegated teams and have been more or less from day one, should have had led to a more moderate tone of criticism, rather than the hilarious doom and gloom we got

The Forest Green was a classic example. Mark Cooper knows they got a lucky win, he more or less said so. Hence, if we can play 'alright' against a team who look dead certs for the Top 7 - did that warrant the negativity that ensured thereafter

To be honest, I've been optimistic right from minute one against Cambridge, simply because I saw a team that was fighting for every ball as an actual TEAM for the first time in 20 months

You don't win the league in October mate, you might have your wish of a top three come 5 pm Saturday but that is not a measure of the squad or the club unfortunately.

Think at times Bowyer has got it wrong. 4-1-2, Doyle as a AM. Not playing 4-4-2. Late subs. Worrying about other teams.

However, lately he's improved but it's only a 4 out of 10 for me so far for Bowyer but he's heading in the right direction.
