    WOW !! I suspect I've touched a nerve, or two ?
I'm an avid reader of WOAP, but the article in question was just 'strange'..... Almost BAZAAR, rather than bizarre. I personally felt that had you written a piece about Gary Bowyer further building his squad, rather than adjusting, it would have made for better reading. Telling your readers something they didn't already know ......

Is our current squad the one which GB had in mind from the off, or had his hand been forced due to an average start ? Now that would have made better reading. Yes, we all have time on our hands, Jason. However, to welcome or attract a greater reader base, it would be better to address issues that are informative, rather than the obvious.

Please don't feel insulted by my comments, as I and thousands of others read WOAP often, and a seemingly odd post now and again should be expected.

It's not the worst rep in the world tbh. There was a poster on here who was had a reputation for being angry. He was despicable, but thankfully won't be on here as the mods issued him with a permanent ban.

Yet the way this division is don't be surprised if we come away empty handed on Saturday, then we'll see another shift of views. There isn't one standout team in this division, the top six will look different to what it is now come the end of the season.

I’m sure the everyone at the club from the owner to staff and players will have promotion as the only aim and hopefully we’ll achieve it.

Regarding Sunderland I actually agree that they sacked Ross. Last year he had the biggest budget ever at that level and should have got promoted, he’s a negative manager out of his depth, it goes to show why people shouldn’t take achievements achieved in Scotland to seriously, which some do on here.

Different situation for us because we don’t have double everyone else’s wage budget. If we got the same amount of season ticket sales but people paid £300 we could have a far bigger budget, but it’ll never happen at this level or the one above. I’d love to see us win the league and raise the price to say, £220 people might just pay that after the buzz of a league win and it would give us the sort of budget to compete for promotion at the next level which is what we all want.

To imply we've had a poor start is laughable and to have expected us to be romping away with it is arrogant and disrespectful.

We've had a solid if non-spectacular start which has put in place strong foundations to allow us to push on. We are in a good position right now but it can all change very quickly.

The pleasing thing is we are gradually looking better game by game. Let's hope the good performances and wins keep on coming as we have given ourselves a real chance to take a foothold in the promotion race.

P.S. This is not aimed at Jason but is my general opinion on our start.

JMc writes Width of a Post articles. It's what he does. It's a reasonable post.

    Pointless thread.

I thought a lot of the criticism early on was valid. Formation changes every week, no width, Anderson, Akpan, Devine and Gibson all getting game time, a toothless midfield, teams walking through us without a DM and some uninspiring performances. What Bowyer deserves credit for is sorting it all out in such a short space of time. The signings of Donnelly and Pritchard addressed the lack of width and pace in the side and the addition of Cooke has brought in some much needed quality in the centre. He had to get those 3 signings spot for and to his credit, he did.

We've gone from looking like a bang average mid table team to top 7 minimum.

No nerves touched pal. I don’t think your post was being critical and I certainly get a lot worse stick from others. I just found it strange to read a long message about what my motives and agenda were, when there weren’t any. I’m a simple man with simple ambitions – I wanted to write an article about the curve of improvement, and to give Bowyer some praise. The end.

So I just found your post odd, that’s all. It feels like you’re looking for hidden meaning that isn’t there. You give me too much credit.

On your question about did the poor start cause Gary Bowyer to change his squad building and should I write an article on it, I haven’t seen it that way at all so I guess it doesn’t make sense. All summer long after making those 10 initial signings, Bowyer said he wasn’t done with signings, and that it would go right to the end of the transfer window. It was very obvious he was waiting for players to go out (I think the T&A said as much) to free up wages with the old Financial Fair Play rules. So once Scannell and Doyle left, it meant he could bring in players he had lined up. A good example is Callum Cooke, who it was commonly known was lined up to come in but couldn’t be signed until players moved on.

So I guess to me it is an obvious narrative because it has been well-publicised. The angle you’re hinting at, did he panic and make signings, I would say it more like the 2015/16 season when Phil Parkinson had built a squad in the summer, we had a terrible start, so Lawn and Rhodes allowed him to bring in Davante Cole, Lee Evans, Reece Burke and Kyel Reid – that to me is an obvious example of clearly changing path. I don’t see Bowyer having done that this time.

Ahhhh, now this post hits the nail on the head, Jason. :)
Had you taken such a stance in your WOAP entry, I could have understood it better.
I have no gripe with you whatsoever, as such. As stated earlier, I like the WOAP contents and all it / you stand for.
So please take my comments as friendly, rather than sheer criticism. TIA.

The thing that I find most bizarre is that your trying to tell Jason what he should and shouldn't write about!! WOAP posts are personal opinions, like on her, about how they feel things are going about City. If you don't agree with it that's fine but to then try tell someone who's written an article what they should have wrote about is madness.

I may be biased as Jason has published a couple of my articles but it seems a fair and balanced piece that still reserves judgement, praises the team and the development yet still questions some of the signings etc but also realises like any normal supporter that there's still a long way to go.

The questioning of the article is way over the mark imo.

Without a doubt, City have had a poor start - Yet after just 12 games, and only three points behind (top spot), does not only suggest Citys whereabouts, but others too.
Here's hoping the momentum carries on, huh ? ;)
