Could Rupp be taking the extra money out of the club because he realises he can’t get his original investment back? Plus he want interest on what he has paid in. That might be holding things up?

If that is the case then it is no wonder there is gloom everywhere.

I like your thinking, cant say much other than the same. The budget thing shocked me as he really made a point in the summer about the money made, to not put what we can back onto the pitch seems very counter productive.

Almost like success with the clubs operations and this team wouldn't be because of our operating model, but more in spite of it.

It's certainly a possibility. He has previously loaned the club £1.7m to pay for the mess which Rahic created. He would be fully entitled to have some of that repaid whenever he wants so long as the club has the cash to do so.

From what I remember Rupp put in money to cover Rahic’s over spend and for Covid losses. Took money back from the McBurnie sale and may still have a £1M+ interest free loan the club owe him.
Let’s not forget our youth sales too which generate a bit of income

Another spend that rarely gets mentioned is the stadium rent,
Not on the rise i hope

I take it that has to come out of the season ticket budget

£2.8m / 25 players is £2243 per player per week. (I’m making an assumption that the loans in and out are cancelling each other out)
Seems a pretty decent figure and I’m including a few of the promoted youth players in that.
I’d say that’s pretty competitive, just not been spent well

It is but we needed a very decent striker and midfielder. Defenders x2. We haven’t got any of those.

Sounds about right. I remember Sparks on the Posh chairman podcast saying we dont pay big bucks anymore and people were on about £2-2.5K a week after James Vaughan left.

It's probably competitive in past seasons. But off the bat you have teams like Wrexham, Stockport, Notts Co, Gillingham, MK, Mansfield & Salford who will likely have a higher budget than us, maybe a few listed there with a similar equivalent. So rather than it being a competitive maybe top 4 or 5 budget of previous seasons, it's probably a 7th or 8th top budget at best and the teams ahead of us look to have spent it far better than we have. I think because teams knew that Wrexham and Notts were coming up having spent so well in NL and they have some FFP benefits from NL too, they wanted to boost the budgets. Where as we have kind of sat still with the budget.

The team from last season needed 4 or 5 quality Signings and what did we do but change our formation and style of play with a scatter gun signings to go with the new formation. The recruitment in my view has been awful and budget wasted.

Said the same earlier today on here. We didn't need the re-launched tactic, just addressing a few areas and that's it. To be fair, I don't know if I'd have trusted Gent and Hughes with another £500K of budget after the crap they found for this amount of cash.
