Somethings weird at this club, really weird. I said this at the start of the season on here, that after pre-season there just seemed a weird energy around the club. Like, the players didn't look chipper to start the campaign, the management looked annoyed, recruitment was very uninspiring. First few home games the atmosphere was really off. There has never been a connection between stands and pitch this season, like we tried ripping up the playbook in the summer for promotion when in reality, we just needed to tweak a few things from last season but by the point we dropped the revolutionary back 5, the boulder was already going downhill for Hughes and the fans had kind of already seen the writing on the wall.

It will be 4 weeks since Hughes was sacked on Wednesday, and just to hire a bloke who was always out of work seems really odd. I get you want to interview and finish due diligence, but c'mon, 4 weeks?! Either the mandate has changed, ownership is on the way out or we didn't know exactly what we wanted. The radio silence after all this time is just laughable. Only thing we have heard from Sparks was him talking budgets and blowing some smoke up the Wrexham way. I cant believe it feels like the season has been a write off since early October, but I just have no faith that this leadership will get this club right this season.

WOAP has some good articles on there but will generally flip flop depending on the result on Saturday afternoon. The general air of malaise amongst the fans isn't down to the last two results nor is it down Kev MacDonald who has been thrown in the deep end. Its down to decisions made over the last five or six years under the ownership of Rahic/ Rupp and now individually Rupp. Things like sacking Hughes but with no real idea of what the next step is other than to throw McDonald in. I don't always agree with you Fordy but i do usually agree with your generalisation that the club has no go forward strategy. We should have had a new manager in by now, its unfair on the players and the fans.

The situation is far worse than a couple of defeats.
It’s been perpetual decline since we dismantled the teams of 2016 and 2017.
All under Rupps tenure and latterly under Sparks

Mr Rupp has treated this club like a man who buys a very expensive bike, because he can, then leaves it to rust in the shed because he doesn't want to cycle.

Just over three years ago we were on the edge of Championship football. We were a vibrant football club, with a passionate and committed fan base, as well as some decent footballers.

He has run this club into the ground.

Your investment has gone Mr Rupp. There is nothing of value left while you remain the owner.

The team from last season needed 4 or 5 quality Signings and what did we do but change our formation and style of play with a scatter gun signings to go with the new formation. The recruitment in my view has been awful and budget wasted.

Ruup allegedly wants £10,000,000 for the club or he won’t sell. The man is deluded, at this moment in time it’s worth around £1,000,000 at the most. If we go down it will be considerably less.

He knows nothing about football though so he leaves it to people who do. He won’t know that Keith Hill was available a few weeks ago, or the Cowleys are unemployed. Or even that McCall is a crap manager, or that the likes of Rhodes , Sparks are obsessed with McCall.

There's a collosal difference between people potentially wanting to buy a club that is not for sale and people wanting to buy a club that is publicly up for sale.

We need to stop this utter drivel about how no one wants to buy Bradford City. There have been names linked with us several times, and if the worst came to the worst and we hit the wall like Bolton, Wigan, etc, well, guess what? They haven't gone under.

There are people out there who would buy Bradford City. Each of them has a different threshold in terms of what they can offer outright to buy the club, and each has a different threshold with the amount they can invest into the club.

You can't tell me that there can't be a consortium put together if needs must.

Well if the leaking tap that I get my information from is correct (the same tap that told me Sparkes was about to be announced, Stuart had agreed a 1 year extension and the club had been trying to persuade Jewell to come back as a D.O.F) then one of J.R’s objectives in recent months has been to find a buyer for the club. Do you really think the Jenkins link came out of thin air? Jenkins was genuinely interested and had discussed joining as CEO with a view to potentially forming a consortium to buy Rupp out if he thought it was financially viable. When word got out neither party was happy and it’s gone silent ever since. Leaking tap thinks it’s now off the cards.

Back to J.R, he was allegedly getting more and more irritated to the point that he’d told Rupp that enough was enough and he was leaving. He was talked round into staying a few weeks longer, but made it clear that the end of November was the cut off point.

I have heard several times that there is / was at least one other potential buyer sniffing (not Jenkins) who are considered genuine, but again it’s gone very quiet. Whether Rupp wants to sell, and sell at a loss is debatable.

That's a good summary of where we are currently and captures the issues well.

I start from a slightly different position to yours and that relates to Rupp's own priority for the club. He has little interest in football; I doubt that he has much understanding of lower league football and has no emotional attachment to the Bradford area. His sporting interest lies elsewhere. His priority appesrs to be to avoid having to dip into his own pocket to underwrite the club or to invest in its future. And he doesn't have to do that now with the good work which David Longo, the Commercial Durector and the likes of Mick Shackleton have done in bringing more commercial income into the club. But it will be required to take the next step forward

It would have been good to have seen some of the extra money being directed to the playing budget but that hasn't been the case. As an aside, this year's playing budget of £2.8m as Sparks said in his recent article in the Athletic is according to the club in line with what it was 2 and 3 seasons ago! That was a big surprise to me. I'm of the view that we are in a standstill. Rupp doesn't want to commit more funds to the playing side and is simply waiting for the right buyer to come along and buy the club at the price he wants.

I keep hoping that the delay in appointing a new manager is linked to an imminent takeover but it may just be wishful thinking on my part. The delay may be just another indicator that Rupp isn't really bothered about the club's future other than getting the books to balance. The squad will need yet another rebuild and that will cost money. Any new manager worth his salt would understand that and require assurances that it will be provided. It's speculation on my part but maybe that's a sticking point for some giving rise to a delay in the recruitment of a new manager? Time will tell.

It’s McCall that should have been sacked. Stefan leaves all football decisions to his CEO and funds the losses with interest free loans.

It isn't good enough to leave the decisions to a string of hopeless CEO's.

If he isn't going to make the decisions then it's time to go

FG. I don't disagree. He was happy in his video with Rahic, at Fleetwood, at Wembley. In good times, in bad times....

Whenever the troubles at the club are mentioned and Rupp questioned, it seems that a portion of our fanbase still blame the era of Rahic. Two years on, no I'm not having that.
I've not for the best part of 6 months.

Does he not realise that the ONLY Thing the club really has going for it is its football league status. We don’t own the ground. Don’t have much value in the squad beyond Wood (out of contract soon anyway) and an injured Staunton.

10m was mentioned above. Dunno where that has come from but no chance we are worth that. We are in danger of dropping out of the league under McCall and why would anyone want us then. Buy a club like Harrogate instead, with smaller overheads, and develop it from within League 2.

Bradford is a dump and the area around the ground is a dump. It handicaps us compared to others looking to attract investors.

He's not going to get. He bought a top end League One club and now owns a bottom end League Two side and it could get worse.

Time to knock a zero off his asking price and get of our club.

I believe the 10 million figure is one that @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler quoted which was not only to buy the club but also take it forward. Unfortunately that figure is used by people as the sum Rupp would want. If there really was a serious buyer out there I’m sure he would be delighted to get our club off his hands for a reasonable offer.
