    What change would that represent?

We're rotting our way to non league as it is, and AFC Bradford City can't be far off.

i think whilst the club is still going it will be hard to galvanise the support needed to start a Phoenix club. If we were to go bust and be liquidated then it would be easier.

Threatening to embarrass him isn’t going to encourage him to sell

This club has been free for exactly two years from Rahic.

So in the last two years of Rupp, how would you describe his leadership credentials, his drive in Bradford City, his commitment and communication for Bradford City.

    Open question

IIRC he did say that after ER had left that this would be the start of a whole new era for the club.

Not fecking wrong there then was he?

Except its an era of shittiness I have never seen before at VP.

If January goes like every other has recently then there is only one outcome to this season.

If we go down, there is no future outside massive losses for Rupp. His position is not tenable.

    Ultimately any pressure is superfluous.

His failures as owner are the biggest threat to Rupp.

I can't ever remember a more nondescript owner at the club. The fear is, he has no connection to the club at all and one day he'll.just discard us and then what??

I don't doubt for a minute that that is what you were told, but I just can't believe it. It makes no sense whatsoever. Is £8m his current "stake" in the club? purchase plus subsequent loans? Asking because I don't know

I can’t believe it either, as I heard the same figure on here a few weeks ago and questioned it....but the two figures (both coming from different people....one who isn’t a City fan) are the same.

That was the price Rupp wants to sell up apparently. Not sure what he bases the valuation on. But his investment will be worth a damn sight less if we are relegated!

    It'll be admin.
Reckon he's put his lot in now, He'll cut his losses and run.
Can't see him putting more into this money pit.
This January pot more bollokcs and spin

Interesting that you come to that conclusion. I have had the same feeling over the last couple of months.

Thoughts started to form in that direction after hearing Stuart's interviews after games and expectations. People have mentioned it in other posts, where he said about being mid table, then maybe playoffs at a push!! People on here were saying that we should be aiming to go up, end of.

Again today, he mentions (when asked about transfer window) we were going to look at doing something if we were mid table to play offs, then says that players brought in were originally squad players. Then he says 'we're nowhere near the (stops before he says salary cap!!), we have funds available!!)

I get the feeling that we are trying to get through the season by spending as little as possible. Whether that is due to current pandemic situation or Rupp not wanting to put more money in I have no idea but that is my feeling...get through the season with as little spent as possible.

I agree with you. It's a big gamble for Rupp to get that balance right. To spend sufficient to maintain the club's league status or to spend more than the minimum as an insurance policy which eats into the club's cash. He'll lose money either way if he gets the balance wrong but particularly if we don't get out of the relegation zone.

I'm not expecting any major spending in January just enough to protect Rupp's investment and to bring Rhodes' cunning plan to fruition!

I'm sure there'll be a toast to how successful that approach has been when we kick off next season as a part time outfit, think of what we'll save on wages!

How are we going to embarrass him in Germany?

Nobody in England cares about the plight of BCAFC so why would anyone in Germany give even the slightest shit about what happens at a regional lower league club in the UK.

We're more likely to embarrass ourselves

Of the 3 problematic areas at the club the owner is the most difficult one to replace because it relies on someone putting up substantial cash regardless of fan pressure.

Hi @Dennis@Dennis given the benefit of your expertise, can you envisage any way whatsoever Rupp can get all his money back? The club is obviously no longer worth anything like he paid for it.

I honestly don't see what would be in it for Rhodes. It's not like he's the type who wants the attention and profile owning a football club could give and, as we all know, we're not really worth anything with no assets as he sold off the only one we had to stop us from going bust on his watch (and negotiated a shocking deal on rent when the landlord was offering something much more sensible).

Him and Lawn nearly had us out of the league in the early 2010's and we're in a worse position now after his latest stint as CEO, I genuinely don't know what would be in it for the club or himself.

Like it or no the motivation for Rhodes is care and concern for the club
