I stopped watching the game and began to view the technical area and upper section of the main stand. In the technical area Collins seemed a little more animated than in previous matches. Like he was "forced" into at least showing some reaction to what clearly wasn't happening on the pitch. He constantly turned around toward Abbott and Drury the latter was up and down off his seat and at one point became far more vocal and animated than Collins. But constantly Abbott is off his seat to join Collins in the technical area. The key moment when you see that Abbott is in charge is the Bruekner substitution when Abbott has sat down. Collins referred to him and then called Bruekner back toward the dugout.

It was also interesting when Wright was finally hauled off. He's not happy Collins motions towards him ..remember he's hauling off the player he made captain ! That's a really telling decision . Infact you have to hand it to Collins for doing it !? But it was more about Collins than what it said about Wright. What Collins was signalling to the frustrated gathering of "City die hards" was "look I can do this I can sub the Captain" He's an arrogant man is Collins. But once Wright slumps down he starts to shake his head. He looks disinterested in the game from then on and fumbles with a drink bottle. He's looking away from the game a lot and across to the City end. He sits slumped in the corner in his seat. You won't have seen a City Captain taken off mid game ( this was one where 1-2 down I would say we needed his supposed leadership on that field wouldnt you ? ) but when the Captain is taken off you might expect a bit of a bust up and some anger and then some involvement trying to do what he can from the outside ...But not from Wright he kind of accepts it almost like hes glad to be off in a way and not have to face the inevitable fan backlash.

Anyway go "upstairs" Edins seated on the top row mid section below the glass fronted hospitality suite. He's greeted by various other City corporates as he takes his seat after half time. He's taken the same seat for the first half. As he walks along line one guy at back leans forward and hugs him. He's seen us "get back in the game" with the pen so with Fleetwood down to 10 ..expects (as we did) that with he "extra man" we can start to take the game to the opposition and make that advantage count. But as this "City team" show devoid of any organisation and tactics it's 10 man Fleetwood with the ultra impressive Hunter and battling Evans who are in charge of this game. Edin is clear frustrated and eventually he's left his seat to take refuge on the walk way in front of the glass hospitality suite. He paces up and down; leans against the pillar and gazes down at the increasingly shambolic events on the pitch and in the dug out.

Eventually the referee calls time on it for all our sakes as Collins frantically tries to call the "shame faced" players with him toward the "cat calling" City fans one or two notably Jordan Gibson and Kai Bruekner heed his call and make their way to front up. Collins is met by a crescendo of "you don't know what you doing" Jordan & Kai at least manfully stand with us and applaud us ! Gotta say these two can't be faulted Jordan in particular having tried his best to make something happen. The other lad Wood who also put one or two useful crosses in when he came on late, also came forward to the fans at the end.

Meanwhile the rest skulked off ! Abbott had a lame attempt at applauding the fans but was roundly told to f-off by me and many others turns and almost falls over getting himself quickly away. We thank Jordan Gibson and walk away ourselves as I look back up in the stands Edin is still stood looking down. Now on his own he views the "absolute nothingness" of the whole afternoon. It doesn't feel like we've even been at a football match at all really. You have to hope that as he gazes down on the mess that he has made of everything that it begins to dawn on him that action is needed to try to bring some organisation and unity to the Club. For that to happen he's got to shelve his own ego; swallow his pride and accept "his model" will sink us and stand down the "Three Stooges". We need leadership and direction and the Club back progressing not this laughing stock we have become.

By the way in amongst all that there was a game going on we lost ..again! 1-2.

It’s the start of September and already our season is just about whether we can stay up, this is criminal. When upcoming games at Blackpool and then Charlton at home look extremely difficult and I doubt we’ll get anything you know there’s a massive problem.

Collins I’m sorry but I cannot abide the guy. I was annoyed he got given the job after such a farcical management “search” as it was fkin plainly obvious that it would be like this. The whole club looked like a complete embarrassment after the whole Harrogate Town affair and apart from a win against a Shrewsbury team who in my opinion will also be in the relegation dogfight we’ve been awful. The Burton game was an undeserved win, and coming away from VP listening to Collins arrogant comments afterwards I just shook my head. It’s no surprise that the next 2 games have been utterly shambolic.

If Edin Rahic can not see how bad this is he needs to get out as he is clearly unfit to be at our club. His strategy clearly is flawed, we’ve been left with a squad that has 3-4 decent players, 4-5 mediocre and the rest cheap squad fillers who simply aren’t good enough. I also think the budget must be completely imbalanced as I’m sure the top 4-5 earners probably take up well over half the playing budget alone judging by the squad. That’s a massive problem, and now we have an injury prone Scannell sat in the sidelines for the next few weeks (who I assume will be the top earner by a long way).

I thought Rahic was supposed to be an accountant? Clever bloke he probably is, but running a factory, I know that if I have a few lads on £12-£13 per hour and the rest on minimum wage then as they’ll all talk amongst themselves I’ll have lots of pissed off staff, so the balance has to be right. At City it blatantly isn’t.

You look at when Parky turned the ship around, every player would have sweated blood for him, same with Stuart. They did it differently, Parky and Parkin were no nonsense and could intimidate if necessary to make sure they got respect, Stuart was the other way of getting very close to the players and earning their trust. With Collins, I think it’s obvious that the players look at him and think he’s a clown. He’s done nothing in his career and nothing as a coach. Before the happy clappers say look at Eddie Howe, Joey Barton, Mourinho etc who alsk had modest careers I’d say Howe was a legend at Bournemouth and knew the club and support inside out, Barton is an arrogant tosser but has played 90% of his career in the premier league under several top managers and would gain respect from players as he’s a loose cannon and Mourinho was surrounded by the likes of Bobby Robson at Barca learning the ropes.

This is a sad situation. As every home game is still “away” for me (230 mile round trip, fuel, food, full day out) I really cannot see me coming down to practically every Saturday home game as I have done since I moved to Newcastle and started working up here in 2004. With 4 kids (all City fans) there’s always other things to be doing rather than wasting a day / money. I can only see me going to Sunderland and Charlton as away games. Sunderland as it’s 30 mins away and Charlton as my wife wants to go to London. This is all down to Rupp, Rahic and Collins. If Rahic admits his mistakes and brings in a decent manager I’ll probably go to more, but I’m not wasting my time and money and I’ll always break even on the season ticket as they’re cheap. If they were double the price then next season it may be the first since 1986 where I don’t bother as there’ll be thousands of empty seats.

THANK YOU EDIN FOR MAKING ME FEEL LIKE THIS

Listen from around 2.48 where he explains why he took Payne off saying, it probably wasn’t one of those games where 2nd half we weren’t going to “dominate the ball and pass our way through”.
Surely against 10 we should be dominating the ball. The problem was, we didn’t know what to do with the extra man.

It really pains me to say this but I hope the defeats keep coming over the next 2 or 3 games. A win or even a draw inbetween loses is only going to delay the inevitable because Edin will just give Collins more time. The sooner he goes, the more chance whoever takes over has of turning things around. Obviously that also depends on the quality of the person that comes in and whether Edin will allow them to get on with their job without interference (big ask I know), but at least it would give us a chance and at the moment, that's all I can cling on to.

The sad thing for MC is that he is clearly so far away from having the capability to do n this job.

When the three stooges were appointed, along with most fans I was sceptical to put it mildly. However, after a bit I thought, maybe just maybe, Edin has seen a quality in MC that shows he is ready. Not withstanding the rarity of u18 coaches being promoted to manage a professional football team.

Sadly, that hope appears to be very wide of the mark. MC looks to be overwhelmed by the role, and the quotes above demonstrate this. I just find it hard to understand how a professional footballet with quite a few years of experience, albeit lower league can be so dismissive of the importance of tactics.

Right now, I believe well organised conference level teams would beat us more often than not. It must be a nightmare playing under him at the moment. I know we say about professional footballers etc etc, but if they step into the pitch not confident about their roles, the tactics and perhaps their team mates and what is happening around them, no wonder we are in a mess.

Unless we get a proper manager, and ER steps back, I think we will go down this season. We are a disorganised rabble.

You look for players that fit a system, the system has to come first. We look like we have bought a whole new squad of individuals and are now expecting them to fit into a system that our head coach hasn't the first clue what it is. In truth the summer recruitment has been an utter shambles, no surprise there. It doesn't fit with any strategy or method, it seems we have looked at a player fifa18 rating on the xbox and not even looked to see whether they fit together. We are looking to develop our own youngsters yet our loan signings are all young untried kids. Its hardly surprising nothing is working at the moment when everything is wrong from the top down. By the time its got to the players on the pitch its got no chance of working. Its like Mercedes having problems with their formula one car, design and engine problems, the pit crew can't change tyres to save their lives, then expecting Lewis Hamilton to get a podium finish. This club is flawed from the boardroom down, its there where the changes need to be made.

We've gone from having 18 good league one players & 2 stars (Cullen & Meredith)

    To

7 good league one players, 5 league two players and 23 non league players.

It's not the budget. It's how it's being spent.

That's why we've gone from promotion battle to relegation battle.

There's a reason our development squad lost to BPA & got smashed by Harrogate. They're crap.

I was one of those who praised our summer signings but it was done, perhaps naively, with the assumption that we'll fill in the glaringly obvious holes in the squad and would have a bench better than non league standard. We failed to do both and as such our summer recruitment, despite some decent individual signings, was very poor.

Edin needs to get over canning a bloke after 6 games in and measure that against canning a bloke 15 games in and we are adrift at the bottom of the league.

You have to question the man’s sanity if he lets this continue, we’ve had 3 months to work on a style of play and come up with absolutely no identity whatsoever.

The best chance to save this season is to act now

    The words already out Ricc
Sane employable personal won't touch Bradford City with a barge poll.
Agents talk to one another and unfortunately the damage to our club as been done.
Situation not totally without a solution but it will carry a hefty price to put it right.

For the most part they were decent signings.

The bigger problem is who we haven’t signed. And the fact that we signed 15 players but at best, only half are first team standard. We’d have been better signing 8 or 9, all of whom were good enough. We needed a better left back, striker and midfielder.

I’m glad we were so relaxed about the loan period of the window.

I bet they won’t be as f*cking relaxed over the next 4 months.

This is the most worrying thing. Most people would begin to question themselves after getting turned down by that many people. Maybe after 2 or 3, you might think "maybe this strategy isn't right after all. Have I got something wrong or am I missing something?". But to be so pig-headed to believe everyone else is wrong apart from you is our biggest problem. I want Collins gone ASAP, because he's only taking us one way, and at least someone else could give us a chance. But Rahic is the real problem.

Thing is, it's a case of the blind leading the blind on so many levels. Rupp doesn't know football, Edin says he does. Therefore Rupp listens to Edin. Rupp has had a chance to take control, by weighing up the numbers, and deciding to put some decent money into the club, to get us a squad capable of not only staying the division, but having a real push for getting out of it. How long does he need to think about his level of involvement? Last week was a real chance - and what do we get? A nineteen year old loan player with real lack of first team experience. Oh yeah, and one of our most experienced players leaving the club. As we know that Rupp doesn't know football, then unfortunately this decision to not bolster the squad in much needed areas, but have been enforced by the man he trusts - Edin.
And if he trusts Edin, then he's not going to take action by getting rid of MC.

Edin doesn't want to get rid of MC, because that then leaves him with egg on his face. People who know football, don't want to get egg on their face. People who know football, don't want anyone else to know that no-one else doesn't want to take on the job of Bradford City manager.

MC is not going to walk away, because this is his first job as manager and he doesn't want to lose face. Abbot is not going to walk away, because he is also cut from the same cloth as Edin - he's been in the game for years, is well connected and respected among the football community, and he knows football. IF anything, he thinks he's the man for the head coach job, as he's the one doing the team talks and he's the one who has chosen these players and put the team together. As the experienced one among the three, he's the one MC relies on and seeks advice. MC doesn't want him to leave.

So it's a stand off. The only way for this to change, is if Rupp grows some balls and removes Edin. When Edin has gone, then that maybe leaves the club open to change, which in turn might make us more attractive to potential job applicants. If a experienced manager applies, then that gives Rupp the opportunity to replace MC. If the new manager comes in, then that would probably mean he'll bring his own assistant manager, which means Abbot and Drury are surplus to requirements. New manager has a look at the players he's got to work with, sets tactics and gameplan accordingly. Players start to feel more confident, and maybe that confidence turns defeats into victories.

Terrible Terrible mess. Reading what I wrote back, the real chill going down my spine, is that if Edin remains "in charge", then nothing is going to change, and we're headed in one direction. And once we're in league two with a reduced fanbase, reduced income and everything else that comes with it, maybe Rupp decides he's longer prepared to chuck anymore money into the club, and sells up, or worse just rights us off as a bad investment. Then we're in an even bigger hole, trying to find new investment when we're in the bottom tier of the football league with very little prospects.

Easy to blame MC - and he's not helping himself with his pre and post match comments, coupled with weird tactics, but the real buck stops at the boardroom door. The moneyman not taking control of the situation, and the active boardmember being stubborn as hell despite cracks appearing in every direction.

And I haven't even touched upon the players not giving their all on the pitch, even though on paper they should be pretty decent.

    HELP!

It doesn't matter how many times I read it, or how factually correct it actually is, there's no way Rahic was stupid enough to give them all three year contracts UNLESS the potential pay out was the reward for taking the bloody job in the first place!

That’s a strong point. Even if Rahic has a break clause in Collins contract and surely there must be Edin is aware that canning a bloke 6 games in to what was trumpeted as a 3 year contract says Edin made a huge mistake and the media would really pick up on this point. Football shows saying Bradford sack their coach 6 games into a season who has a 3 year contract etc. This kind of negative national media Edin would want to avoid but it’s inevitable as Collins hasn’t a clue or the players don’t know what they are doing. Or our recruitment was poor. Or all 3!
The facts are city haven’t looked like a football team worthy of the shirt in pre season or the league games so far. We’ve now had 13 games under Collins in total and are no nearer solving these issues. I can’t see how Collins would have got a league job with his experience anywhere else yet still he is the puppet. The biggest issue is Stefan Rupps inability to see what damage Edin is doing. Stefans investment is shrinking along with ST sales merchandise returns ( since when did we play in the German colours) stripes please, and less punters in the door eat and drink less.
    It’s wrong on every level.
We’re another club in the wrong hands.
    Charlton Blackpool formerly L**ds etc.
    The only way is down.
    Stefan Rupp is responsible.

Have you watched any of the first 6 games?

Our two wins were 1-0 & 'fortunate' to say the least.

    We're not very good.
