I’m not one to say we should be chucking money around for the sake of it, but in a league where the likes of Sutton, Barrow and Harrogate play and many more tinpot clubs Bradford City shouldn’t be even challenged budget wise by most excluding money bags Salford. Yet why does it feel like we’re a mid table budget and missing out on first choice targets all the time. If we’ve stretched the budget then judging by what we’ve brought in it must have been incredibly low this season.

 

I think we should wait until we have seen how he is played in the team before deciding how good this signing is/isn't.

Angol was very much an unknown for most and now look how we miss his contribution to the team play.

 

Same for me, although it was almost a trio over the season with 15 goals from Beagrie. They offered something different , Blake, small, stocky, with that low drilled daisy cutter shot, Mills with the bullet headers. Awesome.

 

I’ve no idea, I hope I have egg on my face because I want every city player to do well but I just think it’s a really poor signing. I actually feel sorry for the guy he got a hammering on social media which I think as fans we shouldn’t be proud of.

 

No matter our league position I guarantee we'll be looking to offload Lavery and Robinson come the January window and looking for another two strikers. Both very poor and very strange signings.

 

The conflict is us, the supporters who would absolutely crucify a manager who failed to get is promoted by using squad first team slots to develop kids. Cant have it both ways.

 

But can name all these players who would be fantastic signings, who have gone to other clubs, yet have never ever seen play???

 

On the face of it, pretty underwhelming signing. It’s sometimes hard to accept the parameters the club is working within but they are there. Let’s just hope he performs at the better end of his record. I’m disappointed but suppose got to give him a chance.

At this point, with the inconsistent performances we're possibly as likely to finish bottom half as we are within the top 7.

 

For those slating the signing of Robinson, some names please of who would have been realistic alternatives.

So far we’ve only had Alex Jones put forward….

 

That's what it's all about scoring the important goals when we knick the 3 points by the odd goal.

 

I suspect it might have more to do with other deals higher up the food chain not coming off, leaving clubs unwilling to part with the player(s) concerned. Leaving us with who was available.
Let's hope Theo replicates his Southend and Colchester form or at least makes a good contribution.

 

With him not being part of PV plans will he be fit enough to play at the moment to the standard Adams requires? Lavery was not played due to lack of fitness when signed.

 

The last loan signing to make an impact was actually Andy Cook last season

 

I understand exactly what you're saying, and we've a long record of signing players that are just anonymous when they leave, having done nothing.
However, it isn't always the case, and everybody deserves the chance to prove the cynicism in us wrong.
Colchester fans speak well of him, maybe he just lost his way at Vale, became de-motivated. pushed out, who knows, it happens.
Therefore, a clean slate, a big league two partisan home crowd, Adams, the system he'll be asked to play in may just all work in his favour.
If it doesn't I'm sure we'll soon let him know, if it does, he may get a trip to Wembley on his CV.

My brother watches Southend occasionally to report on football for a local community radio station. I asked him what sort of striker Robinson is, and this is his reply.

"I thought he was pretty good the few times I saw him for Southend. Very quick as I recall and he was probably unlucky not to establish himself as a regular, although they had other decent strikers like Simon Cox at the time. Famously put Ipswich out of the FA Cup when he was at Lincoln as well (when they were in the National League)."

He supports Ipswich, which explains why that fact about Robinson has stuck in his memory.
