Theo Robinson - Signing Confirmed

On his return to Vale he’s scored three league goals in 29 games

 

We need to be more clinical in front of goal so the obvious solution is to sign a 1 in 10 striker. It's the City way.

John Askey says Theo Robinson is a goalscorer – and has the stats to back that claim.

Robinson’s 11 goals on loan at Colchester from Southend last season were scored at a rate of one every 157 minutes, a statistic that was only beaten in League Two by Eoin Doyle whose 25 goals for Bradford and Swindon were at a rate of one every 120 minutes.

 

So we're signing a striker that has been deregistered since January so that Guthrie could be registered oh dear. Some one can try and spin it but this is a desperation signing and not even one I can get slightly enthused about. Just listened to the interview with Adams and its blatantly clear that the player isn't what he really wants. He sounded almost annoyed at the end of the interview when he talks about how it's not Angol because Angol is a quality player.

 

500 appearances 124 goals is not 1 in 10

 

Sparks and his usual BS/quote has worn very thin with me already.

Signing player journey men like Theo Robinson is taking the p!SS.
And Sparks and the rest at the club should be be getting called out for.. shocking stuff.. but nothing new from us!

 

at least we haven't paid a fee. he must be on stonking low wages. wouldn't surprise me if it was a 6 month deal.

 

I'm less arsed about the benevolence of developing young players for others, but surely there's a bit of young talent out there that's a better option than a player deemed to be of less value to a side than Kurtis Guthrie

 

Don't worry, Robinson has a point to prove, so he'll be fine.

 

Awful signing. Before anyone says wait till he plays. Look at his scoring record or lack of it.

Adams is not impressed in his post match interview. Stopped short of saying no idea, when asked what he brings to us.

What a tremendous boost in confidence for him
Can't believe it could be Robinson the makeway for Guthrie

 

If he's genuinely against it, he shouldn't be agreeing to it. And if he's being over ruled, he should make a stand by not playing him.

Its a genuinely awful signing.

 

Let's hope we've signed the Theo Robinson that was at Colchester and not the lazy Theo Robinson that was at Vale if you get the gist.

He's not a very good signing and Adams is clear that he wanted a much better signing but couldn't get one as there is less movement in the transfer market

That doesn't mean we have to make up some rubbish about Adams and Sparks being on different pages come on

Adams probably gave his list of targets to Sparks and the chief scout and this is the player they got he's obviously not elated about it but there is nothing to suggest he doesn't want him

 

No matter our league position I guarantee we'll be looking to offload Lavery and Robinson come the January window and looking for another two strikers. Both very poor and very strange signings.

 

One good player would be better than those 2, I think. Though Laverton I'm happy to give some time. Robinson though- its a horrendous signing.
