Vaughan got off the mark !
Smallford lost !
I'm back next week !

Negatives
We are now minus 4pts !
We are now minus 7 goals !
Persistance wirh narrow game plan !
I have to leave Vegas for Bradford !

 

At least we aren't Scunthorpe, can you imagine the meltdown if we lost the first two games and we were bottom of league two?

 

Fordy and Captain Blackadder would spontaneously combust.

WHOM of the BIG Seven (apart from Plymouth and Swindon) actually won today ? And how many are streaks ahead ?

 

Positives - Over half of the teams in our league have lost at least one game.

We aren't one of those teams.

Negatives - we haven't won a game yet.

 

Positives:

Central defence looks solid and dominant.
Donaldson's hold up play is good.
Vaughan will score goals if supplied.
Scannell came on today and had Hendrie on toast which shows the ability he has.

Negatives:

Henley isn't a LB.
Anderson is dog shite.
Palmer can't play his own game as he has to do everything in the middle.
No creativity from central midfield when its an absolute necessity in a narrow formation.
Doyle hasn't got the ability to play as a 10.

 

Pretty much as @Tennesseebantam & @donhutchinsaffro have said.
Initially I used to read C&B posts when Burke came to you, then when Cullen joined I started posting a bit. I've always followed Josh as his dad was/is a WH ST holder in the same block as me at he Boleyn, and is a near neighbour of my brother.. Over time you get a feel for a club and its fans.
Obviously you can't change your team but BCAFC is the second result I look for, followed by Charlton again this year, the mighty Heybridge Swifts (7th tier, localish, usually do a few games there as season), Boca Juniors (my dog is called Tevez).
There are a few parallels to be drawn between us too, we've had some bad owners, we live in the shadow of "bigger" clubs, and we detest Dirty Leeds.

 

What i wouldn't give for a Josh Cullen right now.

Josh Cullen would transform this team. He'd sit in front of the back four mopping up everything, spraying passes around, allowing Palmer and Gibson to concentrate on attacking creativity.
Way too good for where are now though, obviously.

 

I noticed Lewis O'Brien made his debut for Huddersfield today, another who stood out straight away and way too good for our level. A loan signing of the level of Cullen or O'Brien would be my priority if i was Bowyer because both had they ability to marshall a game and we don't have anyone who can.

Unbeaten so far with a team that hasn't yet hit its straps and I suspect GB still thinks isn't his best 11 due to injuries.

Sure we all want 6 points from the first 2 games but in truth we havent looked like losing or getting battered like we did last year.

Glad I am not like @Fordy117 who flaps more than a sheet in the wind.

Quite happy to see the team working hard for each other.

Listening to Bowyer post match I think he doesn’t want 442 because it leads to long ball. However and this is what I was hoping for by all means play the way he wants but be reactive and if it’s clear we are not able to get the ball down and play go more direct and get wide players on. This league is a spoiling league unless you have way above average footballers you can’t always play through you have to go round and over the top at times.
