    The pitch is a disgrace, as is the fact that money was scaled back in the summer to ensure it was maintained adequately.

    I think you have it in one there.Digging up and seeding every year will never produce the depth of root growth needed for the pitch to last a full season.Although turfing will be more expensive,hopefully it would be a one off cost which would save money in future years.

    I arrive fairly late, and go to the concourse during half time, so l cannot comment myself, but do they have the sprinklers on both before the match and during the break? Saturating it probably will not assist, and from a layman’s perspective, I would have thought the surface was more prone to break up. http://www.sodco.net/tips-and-resources/overwatering

    We still have them I believe. The problem is the cost to run them. Edin ran up a 6 figure electric bill that wasn't budgeted, keeping the grass green(ish) last season.

    The ongoing pitch saga is just another symbol of how tin-pot and amateur we are as a club.

    When we went to Coventry the other year walking past the area where the lamps are kept there must have been 20 or so all 20ft long similar to these lights-keep-grass-pitches-in-summer.jpg and we have one or two lamps.

    Don't forget that there's been hardly and sun for the last 3 months until recent days. It won't be great for growing grass. There were a few dodgy pitches on the EFL show. Tranmere's was probably worst. It's much worse than ours. Note the ball bounce at 1:26.

    last few times I saw the sprinklers being used the Pirate (groundsman) had to manually rotate them as they would no longer rotate automatically. Was getting soaked, didn’t look to happy to say the least

    Won't be helped having Liverpool Womens team play on the pitch as well as probably not a coincidence that it is another stadium with fairly high stands and the biggest issues being down the wings.
