They will have received over £100 million for getting relegated last season, it helps a little bit.

I don’t agree with Sparks laissez faire attitude. You market your business as we have done previously no matter how hard it is, you don’t just throw your hands in the air and give up. That statement from him is the reason he shouldn’t be here. He has given up and can’t be bothered.CRASS, Bantam-in-Greece and BradfordCityBrad like this. -

I suppose fans need to feel assured that everything that is necessary to keep the pitch in a good playing condition is being carried out. The two drainage systems need checking and maintaining. Other than what we already do is there anything else we can do. We could purchase the very expensive type pitch that the PL have, that is probably beyond our reach financially. We could look at physical protection again and see what is the latest for both frost and rain.

This from Ryan Sparks, in the Bradford City weekly update email:
"I am no groundsman, but put simply, we are enhancing not only the surface, but also our drainage system, following an audit and subsequent feedback from STRI.
In line with advice, we are introducing new gravel bands beneath the surface, which are essentially areas for water to run into, every half metre, as opposed to being more than one metre apart as they currently are.
We are also using fibre sand and other new materials to provide the best playing surface possible for next season, which will hopefully be more robust, fit for purpose, and able to cope better with ever-changing weather conditions."Stop hovering to collapse... Genuine question, if the rain persists could there be a scenario we are at risk of not being able fulfil our home games? If yes, what is the solution eg. ground share?
Acknowledge this unlikely, but looking at the short term forecast the rain doesn’t seem to be letting up much.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Kopendin1964 and Onside like this. -

Whether you care to accept it or not, global warming is leading to wetter winters. We've just had the wettest February on record.
The EFL needs to wake up to this and accept it needs to rethink it's policy on artificial pitches.
I know they're expensive to install but due to their durability clubs can train on them during the day. Youth and women's teams can play matches on them and they can be rented out to communities. All of which reduces costs and generates income. At the moment we only use it 25-30 times a season.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Condition 1 was that if they get promoted to league one then fans get their initial investment back. If they make it to the Championship then the club pay double the money back to the fans.
It's not such a pie in the sky suggestion as some think.Keefly Bantam and Dennis like this. -

I spoke to Mick Doyle at 9.15 all was well and apparently better than Wycombe then the heavens opened. Even then the view was delaying the kick would make things playable but the torrent never stopped.boltonroad and Mal Content like this. -
