As far as I understand David was offered a better job and handed his notice in. I think lumping him in with those from the ‘club within a club’ is a bit unfair on him.

 

We dont know what the details of him going were, maybe because it was a specialist job he was given time to find other employment, who knows.
The journalist is prepared to quote it in the paper maybe he knows the facts, it will be interesting to see if challenged the Daily Star retract their names from the article.

 

What the journalist has said about David Dowse is factually correct. He did resign. That means nothing. You have to resign if you are taking a better job elsewhere.

 

They talk about staff being pushed out. Now that is much harder to prove, you would need constructive evidence, plus other employees to back you up as to the environment you were forced to work in.

I posted : I think @Dennis replied to that question, saying its not unusual that someone takes a lower paid accountancy job until a better paid one comes along.

You posted : Personally, I wouldn't read too much into the club's accountant leaving at this stage unless of course somebody knows something else! There's a buoyant market for experienced accountants with hands-on business experience in the UK. Since the club isn't known for paying its staff particularly well, it's more than likely that he has been offered a better paid job elsewhere.

The accountancy thing is possibly more of a worry than some are thinking.

WHY would someone leave an accounting job at a professional football club? Why would three or four people leave in a short space of time?

What are they being asked to turn a blind eye to, or actually DO?

And why are so many leaving the club with gagging orders...? Why are so many 'unable to say anything'?

What's going on inside VP that's SO bad people are being paid not to discuss it, and why accountants are running fof the hills?

What's happening to our books?

 

Dunno, it's just a mirror image of our government, just plain old simple incompetence...

I'm not sure he mentioned gagging orders, or actually explained why everyone left - he did give a good hypothesis though.

Exactly. Not a gagging order. Just a standard business arrangement until his paid leave expires which I believe is 1st week in December.

 

Not long to go so I'm given to understand.

 

Isn't a gagging order a colloquialism?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I figured it was the exact same thing.
