I also spoke about the border that we need to sort before we are allowed to leave the backstop, but we have no say in when we can leave the backstop that was the reason Mays deal has been voted down, yet the EU negotiators say they would not have a hard border if we left without a deal which I find a little strange that the EU are making a big deal about it in the backstop.
With regards your America comment I never mentioned them, all though I believe (I could be wrong) they would not deal with us if there was a hard border which has never been the UK stance. -
"Whereas the remain side have always been coherent about what it means to be a member of the EU."
I replied saying you cannot even know what the EU will do in the future and where it may lead us, I gave you some SUGGESTIONS as to what MAY happen and never claimed they were about to happen or would do hence the question mark to demonstrate that, they were an example of how things never stay the same especially in the EU that brings proposals for the future of the EU all the time and some are approved and some not but it never stays the same with changes proposed all the time.
You seem to only see words in posts you want to rather than what is actually posted then reply to your own interpretation rather than the post,
BTW You say you are highly qualified and much more than myself, What qualifications do you have from which University? Did you study Keynes and Adam Smith as part of a Politics and Economics degree? Have you a double first? -
Right now in May 2019 the remain argument is coherent. Everyone knows what treaties we have if we remain. Everyone knows about tariffs, businesses know how to operate. Passports will still work. The NI peace process stays intact. Thats a coherent argument, status quo, people know what to expect. Thats just a fact is it not? to disagree with that is just tribalistic point scoring.
I kind of think its disingenuous to suggest that in the future there could be an EU army when the UK has a veto. The fact there could be an EU army is technically correct but then the opposite is also correct we could not have an EU army. The treaty setup right now makes the EU army less likely to happen.
Thats why i dont deal with coulds, woulds and shoulds. Im not being a WUM.
My degree and result is my own business sorry. -
I don't.
You've made yourself look silly throughout this thread, you've highlighted an absolute nothing post as an excuse to say why you claim you are more educated on this matter than Trevor. You're as bad as an MP on Question Time!! -

The whole Brexit thing has been a farce the vote was only taken to keep the Tory party together the country only voted to leave because of motivation of the leavers and the apathy of remainers.
The best thing about it is I think politics is going to change the Tories are going to split whatever happens with Brexit and Labour are almost unelectable under Corbyn so I can see a centre party emerging that can govern well without the extremities of both right and leftStop hovering to collapse... I am more qualified because i have read the Lisbon Treaty. Something which he hasnt because if he had then he wouldnt make assumptions. If he has read it then he knows the UK holds a veto. He argues that nothing is set in stone and we may lose that veto and i said we may also not lose it.
Its that simple. -

I'll have a £10 BBU bet the Lib/Dem's are not the winners come the EU elections (if we have them before the Tory/Labour packed sell us down the river), it will be interesting how many vote for the Independent Party who are committed to the EU just like the Lib/Dem's, could be their down fall with a split vote where the brexiteers just have the one party to vote for. -

Keep up the good work of making fairy tails up about the EU because the moderates will see it for what it is. -
There are possibly two thirds of The House of Commons remainer's and they will do all in their power to not see any deal get done, as Robert Peston said tonight "This is a Brexit-and-populism earthquake of a once-in-a-century magnitude"
