If nothing else the rent on VP would finish us off for good, never mind Rupp coming to the rescue the time is NOW...

The highest average attendance in the National League in the past 10 years was Bristol Rovers in 2014, with 8,400 and interestingly they are only averaging 8,900 now (and for last few seasons). In most other seasons the highest non league average has been between 5,500 - 6,000. Luton being one of these averaging around 5,500 and now averaging just short of 10,000 when they were promoted from L1 and 8,000 in the Championship last season.
I suspect allot would depend on whether we continue with the cheap ST's although I think it is only logical to expect some kind of drop - albeit looking at that maybe not as much as I was expecting.
I personally do not want to take that chance though and I hope the penny will drop in the near future and the tough (not so in my eyes) decision can and will be made.Bigrod likes this. -
I would guess a lot of Season Ticket holders may not renew and possibly decide which games they wanted to go to on a pay on the day basis. Clearly if City were in with a shout of promotion, then attendances could increase, but if we were not in such a position, then the number attending would I guess be very low.

There is only one implication of relegation and that's administration, possibly even liquidation.

Who's buyng us ?? Dont see a queue do you ?
If you do find a buyer, lets say at one million, two million, three million its fairly irrelevant what figure you come you with.
At the moment I suggest we are shedding a sh!t load of money. Who's plugging that gap ?
Rupp, dont see him putting any more money into the cess pit it that is Bradford City.
The new prospective owners ?
Why would you pay 1,2 or 3 million iwith another 1 or 2 million decifiet, with no assets.
In recent history Rupp always had the Mcburnie money to fall back onto. There's nothing like that now.
That is the reason administration is a real threatJonButterfield likes this. -
I cannot see anything we do in January changing much to be honest. Any player(s) in bound have to get up to speed and the will not arrive until late January because thats how we work ! I think the next 8 games or so will be proof of how bad the situation is. We have 13 points from 15 games so whats going to change to make it 25-30 from the next 15 ? No me neither ?
This is set in and come March some fans will be returning with the game all but up. Then Sparky issues a rallying call for the fans to help save our League status. At that late hour Stuart steps aside and Sparks brings in an out of work former Non-league manager with the intention that when the ship sinks we have a him in place to manage in the National League environment. Then the financial reality bites ! we're non-league in a stadium costing north of £300k pa to rent ! , zero assets on or off field and an absent owner. Attempts will be made to try to bring the club into local ownership but Rupp wants his brass back. Nothing can be agreed; resulting in no further investment from Rupp and a make shift playing squad. Nearly all of the football league squad have been jettisoned.
Sparks goes for the "even cheaper" Non League City For Fcuk All ticket at £90 a pop ! But City fans have got used to social distancing and fail to respond in there usual masses. The promotion musters less than 4000 takers. Sparks says its going to be difficult on those numbers no doubt. The ground rent to Gibb is crippling and talk is of a move to the revamped Odsal where the Super League Bulls; Stox and Speedway are drawing good crowds in the sports hungry post Covid world.
City struggle to adapt to their new lowly status and go through another three managers in a fight to avoid the drop to National League North in 22-23 !. The Wool City Derby is the first game of the 23-24 season away to Park Avenue at Horsfall.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... We’d probably just sink into footballing oblivion at that point.
History will tell you that nobody goes straight back up from that league.
Budget will dictate that the squad will be far weaker than it is now (if that is even possible). We’d have no Sky games. No League cup.
Though I guess we’d have a good go at the FA Trophy. A competition somehow less relevant than the Pizza cup we currently compete in. -

Don’t play that roulette guys. We need a new approach. Clean brush and try from January onwards otherwise it’s dire. Our only pull was a large crowd. No financial advantage playing for us at all. No one on that pitch looked comfortable and don’t forget we were at home. Bre upfront. Same as that other huge centre half years ago..... he is a crap as a central half BRE why would he be any good upfront grrrrrr change it before it’s too late.

I don’t think we’d liquidate the club as @wetherbywhaler said would have happened had we gone down in 2012. I’m not sure we would have liquidated then as Lawn would have lost his 1 million loan and I’m sure the fans would have rallied round to prevent that happening. However it will mean years of National league football as only 2 go up and there will be no dramatic transformation of this hapless squad. My fear is that McCall will leave it too late when he inevitably quits and avoiding relegation will be almost impossible for the new manager.

Today is a different scenario we have an owner who doesn't seem overly bothered about his investment a CEO who at best is unproven and a manager pretty much playing on his past reputation
The fans who have historically fund raised to bail us out won't bother why should they when we have an owner who could do that with his loose change No I don't think we will be relegated (probably heart ruling head) but if the worst does happen more chance of AFC BRADFORD CITY regaining league status than the club in its current guise -

But its arresting the decline. As you say, league one. A plan, direction, communication and more transparency.
Oh plus an overhaul of the squad. -
Falling out of this league doesn’t bear thinking about. It’s certainly a frightening thought.
If the unthinkable did happen, we don’t have the infrastructure to bounce straight back, which makes it doubly important to get the set up in place now. Sparks talked about appointments and changes in the coming weeks. I’m disappointed to see they’re not here yet. Based on the fact his appointment has been known about within the club for months, why the delay? I really hope they didn’t wait for him to be rubber stamped before they started looking..
We showed we can match those at the top of the league for at least 45 minutes especially with those currently available, so with injuries clearing and reinforcements brought in I’m hopeful we’ll be ok, but we need to start picking up points before the January window starts. -
Other teams are now starting to pick up points now though, they too might have encountered issues similar to ours. Relegation is a very distinct possibility, lets not kid ourselves!
