I am not sure that’s true Bronco did you not hear of the famous meeting between Big Geoff and P J in the summer between seasons in the premier at Clarke’s restaurant where Jewell was told amongst other things the sort of signings we should have been making.
Also selling players from under the manager when it was clear promotion wasn’t going to be achieved.
I wouldn’t have missed out on G R for anything but nobody should claim he didn’t interfere

Hang on, I’m not the one reporting as fact when there are no facts? Where have I said I’m 100% correct and others are wrong? If anything, I have done what you are doing to me, i.e. challenging the view that someone is claiming to be factual.

Sorry Damo, but I’m not getting this. The player made it clear he wanted to stay. The club made it clear they wanted him to stay. We made it clear we wanted him to stay. All this is factual.

Rumours and that’s all they were, suggested clubs were interested in buying him. No evidence to this though. He was on a Season Long loan and if they were happy to leave him, why would they recall him? As I say, Town were happy with him staying, whereas last season I’m not sure they made such references?

But my point is this.... Parker has been claiming since mid-December that he WOULD be recalled and then sold (not loaned back out). He suggested many clubs, Pompey, Sunderland, Luton, Posh etc were going to make bids.

Now if those bids had been made, our agreement to increase the percentage of his wages would make no difference. Paying “nearly all” of his wages and no transfer fee is of less value to Town than a significant transfer fee and all of his wages. Surely?

 

I could be wrong but wasn’t it said Payne was out of contract in the summer ? But town had a option to extend his contract and with them coming down have taken up that option ? Meaning his wage has increased meaning so has our loan payments, Also meaning he was never up for sale but never going to get into there team this season either . Makes sense leaving him somewhere he is settled and were he is enjoying his football and then maybe next season he may come In useful for town . It suits both parties

 

Yes I know of the end of season meal together and Geoffs comments I'm sure many owners make comments about particular games and as a fan I believe they have every right.
There lies the difference between what we heard about Edins involvment, remember his comnents with regards his football knowledge and how he has to be taken seriously, I'd say from those quotes anyone who thought he wasnt going to have input into things football were some what nieve, rather than the chairman making comments after the game.

Have Town taken up the option? I’ve seen nothing to confirm this. They do still have the option, but I’m not sure it’s been activated.

And even if they have, why does that mean an increase? He would simply get the same terms for another year?

I'd like to say hopefully people will stop getting their hopes up for big signings but probably not.

We are skint thanks to one man blowing a lot of money on a lot of crap, we'll have to get what we've given as we have no other choice.

 

There is no point in hand wringing and whinging it is what it is. Stefan is more than doing his bit, the players and management team are on it, now it is time for the fans to shut the f up, and support what is going on. If you are angry good direct it to the previous chairman, don’t keep looking around for more ppl to blame.

Our sole aim is to be the 12th man for the rest of the season. It will be a massive relief if we can avoid relegation. The players will be giving their all, we just have to look forward, you can’t do that if you are still concentrating on looking back. End of season is the time to reflect.

 

Richmond wanted to sign Samassi Abou because he’d seen him on MOTD. Rahic can’t say the same about Bruenker!

 

They certainly have one thing in common. In the end, they both received their cumuppance.
