Is that right, looks a pretty lengthy list to me, more department managers than the first team has had managers in recent years on that list.

Wow,that's a lot of employees for a league 2club.You can discount the associate directors,as they pay for their positions,but it's still an awful long list.

 

More backroom staff than players but oddly no fitness coach which may explain a lot

 

And if all of those positions are included in the overall budget, it's no wonder we've never got any money left for any decent players!

 

and there's people advocating additional roles and yet more consultants.

You have a Chairman, a CEO, and a Secretary.

That's the entire board at Bradford City.

None of the rest of that 'Who's Who' list are there in an earned & paid advisory capacity.

Nobody.

We have a board of three, and one of them is a distant chairman, the other is the secretary.

With all the will in the world, if you look at that list and think "everything's covered", maybe take another look? The day-to-day running is taken care of by a rather large cast - but at the top? Nothing whatsoever.

 

This is one of quarms about the interview process, just exactly who will be doing the interviewing and decision making.

He might get advice or assistance from people that have paid to have some involvement, or from one of the honorary board members.... The best we can hope for at the minute is that Lawn is heavily involved.

When I left this Board some weeks ago I made a pact with myself to only post what I thought might be informative matters and not to cause any more confrontation, hence my post on my part with the exit of Rahic. Sadly after the Stevenage game I let that slip which I say here and now was a mistake I greatly regret, I should have known better.
Your post leads me to the informative issues. The Associate Directors don't really fall into Honorary status, we are there to help and offer advice, do tasks if asked and so on. My task list over the years is as long as your arm, for example. As you say we also pay for the 'privilege'.
The term Honorary both in law and fact means no power or authority and thus no corporate responsibility. ML is Honorary in his position, I know he has opinions and expresses them, why wouldn't he but as for heavily involved, no. Mark missed almost all the closed doors games and spends time in Spain at his house, he's there now as far as I know. As to the rest of us Associates, several do give advice and are sounding boards if asked. A panel of ADs lead by Steve Longbottom have meetings with the Club at regular intervals and in my case I'm at the ground with various matters once a week on average.

I really, genuinely hope someone at the club is providing Ryan with quality data and information on prospective candidates ahead of a full and thorough recruitment process. I'm not sure who will be providing that information, but I'm not convinced he'll get this right on his own.

As I've always maintained, I feel he needs a huge amount of support, full time, on footballing matters.

Got to agree with that.I feel a bit sorry for Ryan,he really needs help,but where will it come from,not from Rhodes I hope.This is where a lack of a football background will come back to bite his arse,I would not want to be in his shoes at the moment.

 

He does and there would be absolutely no shame at all in holding his hands up and admitting that. In fact, I think it would earn him a fair bit of respect.

 

Go a player light and bring in Jewell/Jones/Morais/A N Other as a Football Consultant.
