@Rcbantam@Rcbantam is spot on. We are a Championship club! We belong there and do nothing about it.

It just cries of you get cheap season tickets you set of losers don't ever, ever go above the station because we don't want too and we are scared.

I said fans need to start asking serious question about the club and its direction!

I was all for giving T&S a go and I've backed them on their record so far. I said a while back that I'd rather have young managers who can learn from their mistakes than a merry-go-round manager who never learns from his. But I have to say there are worrying signs. The persistence with ROD despite his refusal to come for crosses, and when anyone can see that the defence has fallen to pieces since his return, is very hard to understand. And playing in such a negative style, constantly changing the personnel, and talking rubbish in post-match interviews are frighteningly reminiscent of past failures. If they are prepared to show a little imagination and positivity in the remaining games I'll have more confidence in them taking us forward. If not then questions will continue to be justifiably asked.

Surely, no club 'belongs' anywhere, their performances and results dictate their league position and ultimately where they stand in the football pyramid. Yes, some clubs have long histories in particular leagues or competitions, but they're built on season on season of successes.

I bet if you calculated in which league City had spent the longest period across their history. It wouldn't be in the top two leagues.

That doesn't mean that supporters shouldn't want to see better and hope to find them competing in a higher league than they currently are. I've never met a City fan (or an active supporter of any club) that doesn't want to see their club competing in the highest possible league that they can. This belief that City fans settle for lower league football and are scared of something superior is BS. The number of supporters who attend or want to attend games when the club is doing well disproves your belief that City fans are content with underachievement. Nothing succeeds like success and if these mythical misanthropes stay away if/when the club does better, there'll be plenty of people who'll want to take their place.

Rotherham got back out of L2 at the 6th attempt. Luton and Donny both spent 5 years each in the conference. Not particularly instant turnarounds. T&S have had a few weeks and it's not happening quick enough for some. What does Rcbantam expect if we get shot of them now? The whole club suddenly shifts into overdrive and we start rising like a helium balloon? Constantly changing the captain won't get the ship round any quicker.

If I am correct all 3 of them clubs were also improving vastly off the pitch in the time periods you mentioned.

Rotherham & Luton are now a champion club.
    Donny a div 1 club

    You'd win!

Here's what I have for our league records by division, up to today; being old-school myself, I've used the old-school division names!

    Total matches (W-D-L, F-A)

    Div 1: 468 (152-126-190, 584-671)
    Div 2: 1224 (419-300-505, 1620-1818)
    Div 3: 1854 (699-486-669, 2685-2567)
    Div 4: 1133 (433-301-399, 1612-1531)

    Div 3 line combines Div 3N (704 matches, 285-169-250, 1166-996) and Div 3 (1150 matches, 414-317-419, 1519-1571).

Not read most of this thread, but they have been in charge for 24 games and the following is the league table for the last 25 (obviously we lost the one before they were employed).

    Give them a chance.

Said this before, they are victims of their own success. Over their tenure the form is automatic promotion form so any talk of them not being here for the foreseeable future is ridiculous. Unlucky in a sense that Cooke picked up an injury as he was pivotal to our success. Novak to to a lesser extent. I think they realise there is still a lot of work to do with the squad strengthening, only Canavan and Cook out of the January signings have been a hit, the others not really doing enough to justify a place in the eleven. Without strengthening in the summer i would question the notion that this squad could be as successful next season, the weaknesses are there and Trueman knows it. Midfield needs quality in the centre and upfront has more questions than answers.

I don’t think anyone’s not willing to give them a chance, only critiquing their performance thus far. The signs in performance are concerning and show that the foundations of the results are built on sand. Meaning we could quite easily get beat by 2 or 3, or we could win 1- 0

What they’ve done is commendable no doubt. They regrouped, solidified the defence and got the results, but over that time we’ve been second best mostly. What we’re looking for is how they turn from defensive minded coaches to front foot coaches without leaving us too open. No fans in the ground, you can get away with how we’re playing. Playing this way next season won’t be popular and the voices of discontent will ring loud and clear. 6 or so games left. Go for it and let’s see what the future might hold.

It's not about giving them a chance a all.

We are currently in 12th and not the position the club should be in.

The key thing is do they have enough to take us up? Do they have enough to go for wins instead of playing not to lose? Can they build teams around a good forward? Can they improve a midfield that allows Josh Wright to look like Gerrard just pulling the strings when he wants?

I would rather it end in tears at the end of the season then December.

Starting to become too many questions and faith losing already.

Based on current form since T&S took over we"re something like second on third in the form table. So, if T&S had taken charge at the start of this season we'd be in the top three. And despite Tuesday's defeat, wouldn't be having this debate.
They've a summer transfer window to come to further strengthen the team so what is there to suggest they're getting sacked?
The reason we're in 12th is down to both T&S and McCall. Only 12th thanks to McCall and as high as 12th thanks to T&S.

We were always going to improve no matter who replaced McCall. You could have replaced him and we would have improved.

I can't take that form table since T & S took over seriously. Purple patch with extremely poor performances and now we have been found out.

At this point I wouldn't say we've been 'found out'.
Sure Crawley did a number on us and since Cooke's injury performances have dipped but that doesn't constitute a complete breakdown.
What has been 'found out' is that we need to strengthen in mid-field in the summer and convert more chances.
Are you suggesting Sparks sack them in the summer based on an assumption they'll fail next season?
What about the next manager. Will he not fail? There's no guarantees in life.
I hope you don't go sacking your midgets based on the assumption they'll lose their shammy next month.

I would said that plenty of decent managers around in the summer with a good track record.

I'm not saying sack them but I was concerned that we just didn't give them a contract until the end of the season.

As for being found out..we play a boring 4-2-3-1 system and it wasn't just Crawley that have figured us out. Grimsby were unlucky against us also.

If Cooke is the key to the formation then boy this club is in trouble. Cooke isn't that good mate. He's decent but not that good.

Spot on. If we had clawed our way to the position of a Barrow for example the same people putting the dog in now would be praising them.
I think all concerned knows what needs doing after May 8th of the play offs don't happen. Just lets see what the summer brings.

So where do we pick up these worldbeaters Fordy? Don't forget we are a league 2 club as it stands with little in terms of usable income streams.

    I agree.
Someone should have smashed him into the stands within 30 seconds of that yellow for the elbow but no one said or did a dicky bird so he swanned around like the pansy he is.

We should have followed through and appointed Paul Hurst who is proving what a good manager he is at Grimsby and doing it in an attractive attacking way, But once again the trait of doing things on he cheap won the day,

Well Bradford City have used the loan market poorly. I said yesterday that all Cheltenham's loans were PL players.

Then you look at Cambridge with Hoolahan.

    The gems are out there.
