It an “offer” that the club could make, it’s up to them to accept or not (and be jobless). They go back to their old job( if offered) on their existing money, be safe in employment whilst it runs down and if they do well , be offered another contract but not on the same money.

It’s either that or be the management duo for Skipton United on £25 quid a week plus expenses. They wouldn’t get a FL job . It’s their choice , but the club holds all the cards.

 

Personally I'll be surprised if they're willing to go back to the kids after having a taste of first team action. But I think that's best for their development and our youngsters.

I agree, just sometimes you find people who don't take too well to being demoted.

 

Yes it’s been a foolproof strategy from the club for the last 4 years, that’s what you need in business and sport dithering with no leadership or know how.

Is this why he's not suited to us - another one up top manager? Apparently likes attacking football, and doesn't think long ball is the way to go. Yes, I think you are right in thinking he's not suitable for us!

 

Did well for Exeter, but his record elsewhere isn't that great. Seems to like going on long winless runs. Should fit in nicely with us.

Why does no-one mention Aidy Boothroyd? Local lad, works well with youngsters due to his time as the England U21 coach. Did very well at Watford. Maybe he'd like a challenge coming to us.

I'd be happy with Wellens. I'd also be happy with Matt Taylor. And Michael Duff has done an excellent job at Cheltenham - whether we could tempt him to come here is another matter, given they're now a league higher and he's a legend there.

 

Well McCall left in November and he bears a big responsibility for this season

 

Isn't that what they are all wowing about with regards Leeds United Bamford up top with a high pressing midfield and attacking full backs, as @Fordy says a common formation that can be very attacking but you have to believe in your ability.

Blimey. We really are a rudderless boat at the moment. Fair enough talking about who would come to us. But really...WHO would come to us? We're a shambles on and off the pitch.

 

Why - he was not working solo. Rhodes and Sparkes were around to give the ambitious target of remaining in this division and we do not know what the financial constraints that could have influenced his thinking. He was also left with a poor squad to balance and strengthen so the "club" and who has run it bears most of the responsibility of the mess we found ourselves in.

 

Hopefully they gone to Parkinson and said name your terms and price.

Wellens might be ok though. Bring back Doyle.
