To be fair, I never had a problem with him leaving. Doing the same thing with a real player like Canavan was dumb though.

 

Well yes Jon , but Canavan got found out again last night by a 37 year old forward and got himself sent off again. Let’s be honest , we are weak throughout the team as we speak, which says a lot for those released?

Not sure if “getting to the ball” counts any more, it’s the “ intent”. There was a Prem pen given a few weeks ago that was careering towards the dead ball line ( probably 1/2 m to go and at pace) , the forward was brought down three meters further away with zero chance of getting it, yet when brought down the ref gave a pen. I wish I could remember who it was but the discussion after was based on
“ intent” . Let’s see what transpires.?

 

If you check their highlights he does feature a lot and looks very attacking, something we miss. Recent comment on their highlights saying how it doesn't reflect the impact he has either

8 goals in 20 games for them, better rate than our strikers and he's a winger that doesn't start..

 

He would certainly be better than anyone we have available at the moment

 

If we were in the National League, then no doubt he'd be the player for us.

He never made an impact in the EFL though, and never looked likely to get a regular run of games, much less start banging them in.

How does someone score that often and not become a regular starter?

All I can say is, I think Derek Adams is vindicated somewhat. He didn't see the lad as a regular starter at L2 level, and lo and behold, he isn't even a regular starter at NPL level either.

 

He did ok for us and at times he was better than Vernham and we got a fee something that not many we have now would

 

He made 1 start for us this season, and it was in the stupid cup against Manchester United kids.

We got pumped 3-0.

His cameos don't tell me he did better than Vernam, and actually I don't think he's a better player than Vernam - who is one of the worst finishers in the recent history of Bradford City football club.

In 27 appearances for us, including 12 starts, Ollie scored 1 goal.

Vernam, by comparison, is a lower end League Two standard player who would do even better in the National Premier League, and has scored 6 since joining the club.

They joined at the same time.

To be honest, case closed. Vernam > Crankshaw.

 

Obviously I hope I'm wrong, but cannot see anything other than another home defeat tomorrow.

When we get back Walker and Vernam, I might be a little bit more optimistic about picking up the points to ensure safety

 

The key word is "available". If Walker & Vernham were fit he wouldnt even be on the bench.

 

He could play for us for ten years and not be better than Vernham, and as JB says, Vernham is one of the worst finishers we've ever had. He's found his level and if Stockport come up, will be off loaded back to another NL team.
