Fantastic. Me and the lad were right behind it, watched it all the way in. Brilliantly hit and 100% meant it

We've had some awful managers at this club over the years and he's right up there with the worst. Not fit to clean Hughes boots.

Of course, but our squad size gives us a big advantage

Only if the squad players add to the team. None of the players currently not playing, less the injured two, aren't exactly giving Hughes a selection headache.

I think the point is we won’t be bringing kids in to provide cover. Players like Young, East, Songo , Hendrie and add our two long term injuries coming back around the New Year etc who will slot in to cover for individual absences . Even the obese one at Stevenage and Cloughie are lamenting a small squad ! We shouldn’t worry on that score.

I believe if we get a win next week and end the hoodoo at home, we’ll really kick on. Away from home there’s a real bond between the staff, players and fans, whereas at home the team are only a stray pass away from being booed. A win might calm the nerves of the home fans and build up a head of steam, then we could finally begin to build the fortress Mark Hughes spoke about.
It does feel like something is building here, we just need to bring that away form to Valley Parade to see where we could end up. When you think of the dropped points at Barrow and Colchester to name but two, then the missing Walker and Osadebe, where would we be right now. Exciting times ahead…

Agree also. There are some right knobheads sat in front of me who do nothing but moan, throw their arms in the air, shake their head and chelp at the players for anything. Misplaced pass-moan. Missed header-moan. Bad set piece-moan.

Even when we are winning they are at it.

Really have no idea why they pay their money to be so downhearted at every game.

Our support is so much better at away games, the atmosphere at Valley Parade can be pretty poor even when we are winning. 17,000 and at times i can hear the players more than i can hear the fans.

We often hear opponents criticise our home support. If the players can play with a bit more tempo and purpose I don’t think the crowd would be as restless. Away you expect fewer chances, but at home in recent games we’ve created very little.

My only concern as we saw with Songo yesterday is that the backup players need a run in the team to keep them up to match speed. On the radio his early yellow card could have put the team under unnecessary pressure, as the season progresses we will have injuries and we can’t afford for players coming in to be match rusty.
Walker will be a big influence on the team but realistically it will take 4-5 games for him to get match fit which could mean that he won’t be fully match fit until Xmas but this would be good for us as that will be the key point in the season where strength in depth is important.
It will be interesting to see how teams with a small squad cope with injuries after Xmas.

As fans do we have to decide what the players produce to make an atmosphere? I watch quite a bit of football on the continent and the fans are right behind the team even before kick off. it seems over here we wait till we get summat like a corner before remembering how to sing. Valley Parade should be rocking after the last two games but i won't hold my breath.

Surely at least Harratt will be replaced come January , with someone with a better attitude and that will have more of an impact. A couple of quality players and we could be flying.

Beat Northampton on Saturday and I'm convinced we will stay in the top three. Last home match could well be a title decider

Wow - it’s kind of funny but feels like dark arts because Evans is involved!

Although it is legal , i find that very unsporting. He is in the net tying his laces. If you leave the playing field for any reason, you need the ref's permission to return. I presume inside the goal is still classed as the playing field, although once the ball crosses the goal line . it is classed as dead and not in play.
