Just passing Peterborough on the way home after a cracking day out.
Few beers in Sutton and a few more in Kings Cross, a few posters noticeable by their absence tonight (we all know who you are).
Nothing like a good away day win.

 

Having been critical last Saturday and prior of a season that wasn’t meeting expectation, what a week of reply this was!

Mansfield and today are the kind of results that stand us out. Not necessarily standout performances, but doing the right things to get results. Today was graft, great defence and impactful moments when required.

Bravo to players and management for a very decent week. Well set up for a great game next Saturday!

 

Songo’o is the type of player you want when the backs are to the wall. I believe in the last few games of last season he was one of our best players and was unlucky to lose his place. Platt has done exceptionally well but against the more physical teams I think he is the right player

 

I hope that whoever Hughes played would have given their all.

But yeah, fair play to Songo'o for being reliable when called upon.

Can't see anyone having a bad thing to say about him when he eventually leaves, looks to be a proper pro to me.

 

Agree also. There are some right knobheads sat in front of me who do nothing but moan, throw their arms in the air, shake their head and chelp at the players for anything. Misplaced pass-moan. Missed header-moan. Bad set piece-moan.

Even when we are winning they are at it.

Really have no idea why they pay their money to be so downhearted at every game.

 

It was another game where I felt we were never in any danger. Suttons physical approach didn't really bother us.

 

Loved that game. We really are becoming hard nuts. Banks is becoming an excellent footballer. We dug in again and refused to let our 2 goal advantage slip. I thought we looked like a team today we played for each other. More of that please.

 

Good professional job. Songo'o and Critchlow were outstanding and Banks was unplayable when we got him in the game second half. Sutton were poor but their style makes them an awkward opponent and we stood up to the physical test really well.

Sutton were direct and just played constant percentage balls, made it look like they were creating a few chances but in reality they offered very little. Defence were immense today to stop Lewis really having anything to do. The whole team stood up to a really slog, we need that fight at home now and we’ll start to improve our home form.

 

Aren’t him and Wright out of contract in the summer? I’d love us to try buy them, both can play higher imo and could be assets to go along with Harry Lewis.

Would be good to finally have some players worth something.

Next Saturday at home to Northampton is a big game, we need to get back to winning ways at Valley Parade.

 

I understand the leagues top scorer Sam Hoskins of Northampton will be suspended next week after accumulating 5 bookings

 

I hope Palace don't recall Banks in January and send him to another club in a higher league. Clubs do that and it often backfires. Let's hope they see the merit in keeping him with us for the lad's continuity

 

Their type of play was made for Yan. Good call to play him by MH instead of Odusina.

 

We've had some awful managers at this club over the years and he's right up there with the worst. Not fit to clean Hughes boots.
